So yes, I come from the import world, all my life, and this is normal. Just wondering why Corvette owners don't use this color combo? I have seen tons of rims on vette's, and maybe one or two with Gold/Bronze rims. I have the stock chrome rims and don't like them. I love black rims but on a black car, boring. I need new tires and debating about upgrading or sticking with stock. I have a narrow body z51 convertible, but tirerack.com doesn't have a convertible pic.
I will guess that Corvette owners reserve the black and gold wheel look for the '78 trans am and other firebirds. I feel it is entirely appropriate on a firebird and would drive one. On a black Vette, I like black cup wheels, or chrome. You can be unique though.

I think you answered your own question with the "come from the import world... and this is normal". I just don't think many Corvette owners are fans of that color combo. I think it looks fine. And as RockinSeat said, reminds people of the 78's Trans-Am and Smokey and the Bandit.

That is a Subaru STI combination, probably why. I had that color combo on mine back in the day, Just you spend $2k plus for rims, I want to see them instead of them blending with everything else.

It's a Subaru thing.
I think the other part is that vettes have big *** brakes, and up until recently that wasn't the case on STIs, let alone WRXs or regular subies. So a black wheel draws attention more towards big *** brakes than gold wheels would.
I think the murdered out look is more of a domestic thing too. That's always been my preferred look, and I tended to lean more into domestics (though I did have an STI and miss that thing all the time, great car).
I think it would look really cool and unique! Go for it. If you're unsure, you could always PlastiDip your current set bronze to see how you'd like it.
That is actually not a bad looking combination, but for the most part there is very little crossover between the import and domestic tuning scene. I really would not want to see a huge wing and fart can on any Corvette.
You'll for sure get lots of posts saying it's your car do what you want. The thing with Corvettes is it has 80 years of tradition and has lasted as one of the longest lasting and best sports cars for a reason. Tradition. Owners love it the way it is . If I owned your car the chromes would be on it.

Back in the day the JPS Norton Commandos and Lotus F1 cars looked pretty classy in black and gold.
But a coworkers '84 Pontiac Grand Prix in black with gold wheels totally looked like a pimp mobile.

I don't want to ruin my stock rims.Plus trying to find someone in Germany would be a pain. This is how it sits now.

Surprisingly, people do that over here in Germany: Corvettes, Camaros, and other American Cars, and all are American Drivers. . I guess they figure they drive at 130+mph on the Autobahn and need the stability?

I grew up around corvettes and my dad owned many 60s/70s vettes. I would not want to see a 63 split window with 20" gold rims.
