Hi I am looking for a place where I can take my 2009 base model corvette for service and troubleshooting ? I live in Tracy California and we have nothing I know of here. I refuse to take it to Tracy Chevrolet. I know of no other good corvette mechanics who are experienced enough to troubleshoot a couple of issues I have with my traction control and service light repeating to come on and for no reason as everything is running fine .. Please steer me in the right direction somebody... Thanks
Is there a reason you don't want to try the dealer ? I once was skeptical about the same thing, but after talking to the Service Manager, they had one dedicated tech to Corvette cars! Needless to say, he was experienced enough for me not to have to take it somewhere else. Worked out well. I would gauge their experience in Corvette, if nothing else
Yes have you been to the Tracy Chevrolet dealership? They are not very professional and they do not have a corvette specialist there so I do not feel comfortable being charged by the hour to trouble shoot a traction control issue ... I prefer a mechanic who has experience in hunting down and knowing where exactly to look and where not to look. I have been unhappy with the results from there. If I had a good dealership here in Tracy that had a great corvette mechanic or even a good history of corvette repairs there I would go and not post a request on the corvette forum for a good corvette repair guy. I am weird that way I guess and do not have loads of money to hand over the Chevrolet for this particular issue ...
I would say capital chevy in San Jose if you prefer a dealer. Maybe you can ask your friends/family for a local trusted shop that is not a dealer. Much cheaper that way, and often with the same results.
would you mind posting your car issues and the check engine codes ? Many experienced people on here that can steer you in the right direction ...
multiple engine lights are often related to weak batteries or weak grounds ....

If you're getting a service traction control and/or service active handling message that pops up randomly but (and this is the most important part) it will go away (at least for a little while) after you turn the car off and on again, then more often than not it's a pretty easy fix.
The four VSS (vehicle speed sensor) connectors are VERY finicky in that if the connection is even a little loose it'll trigger the message. Usually all it takes to fix it is reseating each connector and ensuring it's securely clipped into place because if it comes loose and bounces around that'll cause it to act up.
I'm in Brentwood and if you wanna swing by one weekend I can take a look for you, probably without even needing to pull the wheels off.

Abel Chevrolet in Rio Vista. I second ptroxx on that recommendation. I live in San Jose and take my C6 to Abel for any work much beyond oil change.
