My 08 coupe w 60k mi runs great . One small annoyance is the seat memory. The steering wheel retracts and repositions correctly as do the mirrors. The seat has a mind of its own
Sometimes working exactly as I set it to do and sometimes nothing. Other times it moves backwards, like moving closer when I want to exit . Any ideas on a fix ?

Are you always using the same fob? 2 different fobs could be programmed differently.

Could be a wire in the switch on the side of the seat. There have been instances of the wires breaking at the connector, or shaffing. I know my switch for moving the seat would stick once in awhile. I had to remove the switch and reposition the switch a bit so the button would not rub against the holder.
Good Luck

sounds like you have the easy exit feature turned on - when you exit the vehicle it will move the seat back to allow easier exit .... maybe

You have to set the the exit seat position in the same way you set positions 1 & 2.

Another item I noticed is if the seat position is all the way rearward for the exit feature, when you get back in and press seat position 1 or 2 the seat will not move much. However if you manually push the seat forward control to nudge the seat forward and then press the seat position 1 or 2, it works fine. For some reason if the seat is at its limit the seat memory sometimes does not work. So don't set the exit position all the way back.

im tall so it’s set back all the way
setting the exit feature it says to push it once then again and beeps twice. Maybe I’m doing it wrong. Car on. Car off? Running ?

You can set with car off. You also can set when car is on but if auto it must be in park, if a manual the parking brake must be set.

Press and hold. Two beeps means the car accepted the new memory position.

I want to amend this comment to include the seat will sometimes not move away from the exit position.

You can test this. When you get in the car with the seat all the way back, press seat position 1 or 2. If the seat does not move much, reach down and manually slide the seat forward a very short distance. Then press the seat position 1 or 2.

This works every time in my car.

Another reason the seat may not move is if seat position 1 or 2 was not accepted by the car as in there is no seat position in memory to go too.

Before you shut car off ,run the seat all way to rear and adjust telescoping steering in as far as you like.
Then hold the (button between 1&2) in till you hear beep. When you get in car hit button 1 (I assume you use button 1)

The seat and steering will move to your desired driving position.
