Default LED headlight bulb

Considering Morimoto headlights but pricey!
What is the best LED bulb combo to get more light from my stock C6 headlights?

I don't think LEDs are recommended for the stock projectors but maybe that's changed with newer tech?

This is the LED conversion that most people recommend: https://sharplightinnovations.com/sh...ersion-diy-kit

I still run HIDs and am very happy with Philips X-tremeVision Gen2.

Yeah I think one of the main issues with LEDs, and higher wattage ballasts is the heat. OEM housings are already super prone to crazing so the last thing you want to do is speed that up. I don't even think the actual projector lenses are that good either. For example look at the quality of the projector lens on the c6 then look at a Porsche or Benz. It looks like plastic with a **** lathe job vs a nice solid hunk of glass. Maybe consider a new set of hids to see if that helps. Otherwise if visibility is your main issue the morimoto ones really are worth every penny

consider adding high output leds to the fog lights - they really light up the road

I am in the process of upgrading my heads, tails, and fog lights, bulbs only. I bought the fog light led bulbs from Vette lights and they are super bright. I also bought the low beam hid 6000k and am doing a hid conversion for the high beam from Vette lights. I am getting the drl bulbs from underground lighting. They are led with a built in resistor. Also getting their tail bulbs with built in resistors. Waiting to get all the bulbs for heads before I install. Just lack the high beams.

I will vouch for the Sharp Light Innovations LED conversion kit.
It Is a well engineered system that offers outstanding performance; If you want to keep the "stock look" and are ready to install new lenses, this is a great alternative.
I have been driving with these lights for about 4 months, and they are an incredible improvement over the factory installed HIDs.

+1 on the Sharp Lights LED hi & lo beam projector conversion. I've used them for the past 2 yrs and have been very pleased.

Here's what comes in the kit: projectors, mounting brackets, ballasts, wiring, etc. Unlike some LED conversions, these replace both Lo and Hi beams with new LED projectors.

Direct replacement for the OEM parts.

Lots of useable light - currently the best lighting system available for C6s. Everything is the same color, and with LEDS you get instant on which is nice.

I added some nice 80w LEDs in the fog lights for even more useable light.

Several different ways to go with LED headlights these days, each one a little different. This setup was my choice and I'm very happy with it. YMMV. Let us know what you decide and post pictures.

I did 55watt hid 6000k in the low beam and a set of hacari led bulbs in the fogs……while the light output from the fogs is very scattered they easily add a ton of light if your not worried about other drivers being blinded.

6000k HID color does not cut thru rain, mist or fog very well. Took them off after the first night storm I got caught in.

Thanks to all who replied! I’m considering Auxito White and Amber dual color switchback bulbs with projector 3030 chipsets for turn signal and parking lights first. I have had good luck with Auxito interior LED bulbs in the past.

The JDM Astar 80 W LED fog light bulbs I installed were a disappointment as to the brightness but they’re OK.

i used Auxito bulbs for interior, side markers, reverse, hood, trunk, and license and have had no issues.

The underground lighting tail bulbs with built in resistors work with no issue. I am about to install the drl from them in my car and went with all white. Again a bulb with a built in resistor.

Thanks for the feedback. There's a big difference in quality among Chinese LEDS, from terrible to really good, and not necessarily according to price. If/when you find good ones, stick with them and tell everyone else.

Been down the road - upgraded all the bulbs in the OEM, now have full Morimoto and IMO worth the costs. I will say the fog LEDS are BRIGHT - got flashed all the time with those. Have not sold them yet.

I went with Vette-Lights to maintain more of a stock look. I liked Vette Lights efforts to match the various colors and have no complaints. All forward lights match very well in color. I didn't go with LED headlight bulbs, those all seemed so aftermarket, I went with more traditional 6000k HID replacement low beam bulbs. I also bought the HID high beam kit but decided not to change those, the fog lights are so insanely bright, the brights aren't needed and the HID high beam conversion requires some modification. I did change the rear taillights with morimoto's, pretty much only because they were on sale at the time and those are pretty cool, not exactly stock but close enough to stock.

I went with these:
HID Headlights
Switchback LED turn signals
LED Fog lights
Morimoto brake lights in stock red

I went with the same HID headlights on my factory units and it did noticeably improve lighting. Unfortunately there's only so much improvement that can be done with a poor OEM projector design. But they definitely got the job done and for much less money than many replacement bulbs.

I have since upgraded to the GTR C8-style headlights and it's a completely different world of lighting output. Wow.

Have you installed the DRLs from Underground Lighting and are you happy with them? I like that they have built in resistors and want to install them in my car.

I did install both the tails and DRLs. No issue with the tails but the DRLs hyper flash if the lights are on but do not if driving during the day. I spoke with the owner and they are having a new build developed that will prevent this. He is going to swap mine out when the others are available. Should be soon and I can report back.

If your comment was directed at me, it is not being cheap as I don’t like the looks of anything Morimito has to offer. I am probably in a minority but I look the looks of my C6 and don’t want it to in anyway resemble a C7.
