Default ‘07 C6 Sound System screen

My 2007 C6 has a stock Bose sound system with satellite and nav. Every now and then when I start the car the screen stays blank. Radio works but can’t see screen to change channels and such. Corvette logo doesn’t come up. This is a very random thing and doesn’t happen very often. After stopping and shutting the car off and then restarting several times it just randomly comes back on and works. I can’t seem to make it happen or link it to anything in particular to figure out a cause. This has been happening on and off for several years. Not a battery issue because I replaced it two years ago. Any thoughts?

About alls I can think of trying is to pull the head unit and check the connections, unplug them then plug them back in, and make sure all the terminals are well seated in the connectors, and check the fuses to make sure they're well seated also. If that doesn't do it, I'd suggest just getting a good aftermarket head unit and getting rid of the outdated nav system and get something more up-to-date, you'll be happy you did, because you'll have a better sounding system with much more functionality

Yeah, I thought about pulling head unit but it’s so much work for such a random thing. Getting a new head is on my “honey do” list but keeps getting bumped for other mods or upgrades. Thanks for the input. 👍

My 2007 has been doing the same thing for about a year now. Crutchfield has been out of stock on all but the cheapest units so I am just dealing with it until I can find a good replacement. Exact same symptoms you described above

Yes, I have heard of head units with quirks, my C5 unit had to be replaced (under warranty...)

Might want to consider a factory one, feasibility aside may work great
