Default Engine Badges

Just bought a Billit metal horsepower (436 HP) emblem to mount on the plastic LS3 engine cover on my 2008. Question is...what side of the engine cover is the appropriate side to mount the emblem (driver side or passenger side) since I will only be installing one emblem.

Thanks for any comments or suggestions on this question.

Just a suggestion to apply the emblem to the passenger side fuel rail cover left of the oil cap hole. If placed in a similar location on the driver side, you may have problems with adherence when removing/replacing due to the flexing of the cover when guiding the fuel feed tubing through the cover slot. For some reason, this seems to be more difficult than it should be to remove/replace.

Be sure to include PICs when you make a decision.

Drive safe...GD

Just me but I'd put it on my garage wall not on my actual car, engine cover or anywhere else.

Do you enter your Corvette in car shows? Who do you want to see that your car has the stock 436HP?

I'd be afraid of mounting it under the engine in case if came lose while driving and rattled around in the engine compartment. Since you only have 1 emblem, why not adhere it to the lower right hand side of the rear bumper by the word "Corvette"?

No car show issue, just for my own eyes. The emblem is quite small and adheres with 3M tape...should hold ok.

Thanks form the comments

Make sure you clean the cover really well where you put the emblem with something like denatured alcohol or that tape won't stick. A good test is to clean the area then use some masking tape to see if rolls up and releases. If it does not release then you are good to go and if it does clean some more.

This is a good location, and the fuse box lid is another good location. I’d also recommend peeling off the 3M tape and adhering a strip of Velcro to both surfaces instead. Makes for easy removal.

I had a few choices where I had a flat surface, one being the fuse box cover, the coolant reservoir cover, and the other was where I placed it.
Velcro is a great choice for attaching most anything. All those covers are held in place with velcro.

Lost on this one, since LS3 dry sump motor will already come with a built by badge to start with.

So throwing an after market sticker on the motor for it's oem limited power its making from the factory, kind of moot unless you are playing dress up with the car for the lawn chair crowd meets instead.
