Hey all, I have been working on installing this C7 Carbon Rear Race Diffuser onto my car this weekend and ran into what may cause an issue. When mounting the reverse lights I noticed what seems to be minor cracking around the tabs. I was wondering if this is still safe to put on the car like this or if it will continue cracking and end up in the finish of the displayed carbon part of the diffuser? Is this normal for carbon parts on mounting points? Photos are attached. If this will continue spreading, what can I do to stop it before mounting the part? I sent C7Carbon an email but haven't heard back, really hoping you guys have some experience with this part and this issue. I spent a lot of money and time waiting on this part so want to ensure that it stays nice.
If anyone has pictures of how they mounted their reverse lights that would be awesome too, not really thrilled with the fitment and I don't want to push hard and force the light in deeper. Here it is held up to the car. Thank you!
Edit:
May have just ran into another issue, I slid the bumper diffuser on to test for proper fit and realized my muffler cans are putting pressure on the bottom of the diffuser, is this normal? I have Corsa Sport mufflers. I'm a little scared to run it like this and it cause issues and break the diffuser from the bottom after some driving. May have to adjust the mufflers but the exhaust shop tac welded everything in position, wouldn't be easy.
Are those cracks just on the surface near the mounting points or are they deeper (can you see them on both sides)? Are you installing the lights from the front, i.e. pushing them into the openings or are you installing them from the rear of the diffuser? If from the front, try from the rear and see if they have better fitment.

I believe it is just cracking on the top part of the finish. The tabs are still very strong, I was just worried about the finish part spreading onto the carbon part that is displayed outside of the car. I was installing the lights from the rear of the diffuser but the lights are a VERY tight fit. Thank you for the input!
I stumbled across your thread yesterday evening. I’ll take some pictures of my reverse assemblies when I get home from work later this evening. I wasn’t completely satisfied with the fit, but it’s so low to the ground that no one can tell the difference. As far as the tabs go, I don’t recall the same issue, but I wouldn’t be surprised if mine has micro-cracks too. Try not to over tighten, of course.

That would be awesome, I would love to see how yours fit. I think the cracks are happening from the reverse lights being such a tight fit, I barely have the screws tight but just from them aligning the reverse light it seems to be causing an issue.
Also, I don’t have any clearance issues with the diffuser itself. I’m running the stock exhaust cans though. I’d definitely have your exhaust shop see what they can do. Wouldn’t take much pressure to cause a lot of headaches.
