He's wanting one that connects to an iPhone via bluetooth or wifi that'll display the picture on his phone, such as this. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Wireless-...b&gclsrc=3p.ds I personally never have or have I heard of anyone trying one. Most people here have replaced their stock stereo system with an aftermarket one that has video inputs and a screen capable of displaying camera(s) including myself.

Oh, I see. I misunderstood.
The only somewhat reputable one I know of that is completely wireless is the https://www.garmin.com/en-US/p/591686/#additional. However, a second unit is still needed to display the camera.

I wish I would've thought of that setup on my c5! I ended up using a rearview mirror mount that goes over the stock rearview mirror, but yours looks a lot cleaner.

I did the same in the Porsche Boxster . Little lag time when I hit R but it worked ok.

Iv'e read that there is about a two second delay on some of the systems that display on your smart phone. Additionally, I believe you have to open the app every time you back up.
Sunnyvale Dave, that’s what my research indicated as well. It won’t work for me as I use my iPhone as a GPS . I thought of mounting a separate monitor on the drivers side dash but that gets messy.
4SUMERZ’s idea looks very interesting! I would like to know more about it!
HI Guys,
I'm installing a new Kenwood DMX957XR Head Unit in my 2005 w/Bose.
I'm using the PAC wiring harness, which has the Purple/white stipe (Reverse gear output) connections.
If I have mode those connections, do I still need to make the connection to my reverse light and ground, in the rear bumper?
The gentleman at Crutchfield told me that I just have to connect the red "power" wire, from the camera wire, at the end where the yellow male RCA adapter is, to the red wire in my harness?
I hope this makes sense?
Thanks in advance,
Peter

No, you don't still need to make the connection at the reverse lights if you connect to the purple/white wire at the harness, it's essentially the same thing. Yes, connecting the red wire to the red wire at the harness will power your camera whenever the car is running which'll allow you to turn your camera on anytime you want to view it, which is how I have mine in my truck which is handy when I pull a trailer so I can keep an eye on it better, not so much needed in the Vette but that's how I also have mine wired just in case I want to view it.
I installed a Scosche Wireless Solar Powered Backup Camera System. Mine came with a license frame solar battery powered backup camera and a 4" screen that you plug into your cigarette lighter. Once you plug in the monitor, it sync's up with the camera and instantly starts displaying, with very little delay at all. I did an initial charging of the license frame camera, and haven't had to do anything with it since. Just push the button when I want to see what's behind be, and away I go.

So, since I have purple/white connected to purple/white already. I just have to tap the red wire on the end of the camera connection which has the yellow male RCA into the red connection i already made between the two harnesses?
By doing it this way, will the camera still show on the screen when i put it in reverse? (I assume so, because thats what purple/white to purple/what does?)
Thank you,
Peter
