Having sold my C5 last year, retiring, relocating back to OH from VA , and building a house, I started looking for a replacement. I'm probably not the typical Corvette owner as I drive them and miles don't mean all that much. I've seen some horror stories about low mileage cars and a couple over the years that gave me some grief, so I'll just take an "experienced" car and see how it goes. My C5 had 165,000 miles when I sold it and would (and did) drive it anywhere. I considered a C5 Z06 and called on about 3 with low miles and priced accordingly. None of the dealers would budge and one even said this was a bad time to buy a car. His has been for sale over 200 days and he said he didn't care if he sold it or not. One was a 2003 with 39,000 miles and a cracked dash. Take it or leave it. Didn't really set a budget but I still have to eat. I originally wanted an LS3 in Atomic Orange with a manual. I found this on Marketplace in PA with a clean title and Carfax. Looked decent and drove great. 95,000 miles. Bought it for $20,000. Drove it 200 miles home in the rain and it drove perfect. I knew there would be some issues but it's in nice shape cosmetically and the interior is decent. I filled it up with gas on the way home and could smell gas. We know what that means. I drove it around Saturday and Sunday to empty the tanks. Monday on the way back from our building site, it overheated close to our apartment so I got home alright. Took it to a local mechanic I know to see if it was the water pump or some thing more simple. He said he would check the gas smell as well. I told him it was a known problem so I filled the tanks up before I dropped it off this afternoon. No gas smell whatsoever. I'll find out tomorrow but love the car and so it goes. I'll be having some questions so be patient with me.
It's a real nice car for the money. Yes I am sure there will be a few items to repair but at that price its a steel and it looks like you know all the C6 issues. Best of luck and keep us up to date.
The C6 needs to apologize to no other performance car when it comes to cost of ownership. You can upgrade it to supercar status for not a huge amount of $'s. It might have issues before a stock car, but will still run with anything on the planet $ for $.
We'll miss you here in old Virginnie. Beautiful coupe you got there.
I was offered a position in 2005 at a company in Lynchburg that was owned by my employer in OH. VA was good to me. I retired in January and moved back. Glad I got to help it turn red before I left. Our youngest daughter still lives there. I plan to go back at least once every year to play in a golf tournament in Floyd.

Beautiful...one of my favorite colors.
If you ever come to Vegas, give me a shout. I live on a golf course, and play several times a week. You will be my guest.
