Default Axle shaft help needed.

I have the spindle off and out of the way but I just cannot pull the axle shaft out of the rear. So before I destroy something I figured I'd ask if any of you guys have any suggestions for removing a stuck axle shaft. I'm done for tonight. Had enough Fun for one day. I love putting new parts on my car no matter what they are it's just sometimes some of the old parts don't want to go.

Ok, this is a bit out of my wheelhouse, but since no one has answered you...I watch a lot of the DIY car shows, don't you have to remove the C clips inside the diferencial before the axles can be removed?

they are supposed to pull right out. The passenger side came out fairly easy and that side is completed but the driver side is giving me problems. I was thinking to spray some PB Blaster in there but I'm afraid to get it into the gear oil. I might just try a pry bar tomorrow if i don't get any better suggestions.

Use a wheel hub with rotor on it, leave about a half inch of threads on the axle nut screwed on to the other side of the axle, to become your slide hammer assembly, to pop the axle out of the diff output socket.

OK so the home made slide hammer worked for about 1 1/2" then the shaft came apart inside. I then grabbed the good 'ol trusty ball joint fork and gave it a couple of taps and out she came. Thank You! guys for all of your suggestions. I cannot start to figure out all the $$$$$ you guys saved me over the years. This is the Best forum ever. .

OK so I'm finally done. I think I'm an expert at this by now. Learned a lot doing this repair. Thanx again guys.

All bearing are not created equal!

In 2008 the base with the Z51 option used the same axle shaft as the Z06 from the factory.

It's a Great idea to replace the seal when you pull an axle shaft, or you will be back in there at a later date.
