Default Dialectic grease question

Hey guys! I have researched a lot about what to put on rubber weatherstripping to condition and preserve. I bought this and just applied it. After getting some on the plastic trim by accident, I looked back and some said this wasn't good, then I saw that using dialectic grease at all is a mistake. Just different opinions or is this gonna turn out bad. Thanks guys.

I've only used Dielectric Grease for waterproofing electrical connectors.

Use Honda/Acura OEM Shin-Etsu grease. Made to protect/lubricate seals. Made in Japan.

Amazing stuff makes your seals/rubber supple and like new. And protects for a long time. Available on ebay
