How about a little history ... What led up into you looking into all this ?
Lots of folks are here to help you, but you need to give more info in order to get good help.
I tried drifting a corner but felt like it kept catching and losing traction then a little way down the road it started making a real bad grinding noise and ticking.
I pulled into the nearest lot and turned off the car. Tried starting it back up it struggled but did turn then drove it home

transmission fluid and engine oil levels and temperature didn’t change no new warnings
Walk in the part, and only the trans and diff need to be dropped with cradle, the TT left in place, and the plate (11) just replaced.
As for why it snapped, the plate is bolted in place after the TT has been mated up to the trans, and would dare to guess that the bolts where not tight. But that fact that you did snap the plate, bank that the TT couplers are trashed, so time to rebuild the TT as well (read it pulled as well).
So indy shop, your looking at close to a grand to R&R the drive line, plates not that much, but between couples and bearings, figure another $400 into the mix to rebuild the TT as well. So around $1800 at a indy all in, while close to $3K at a dealer instead.
