I am new to the Forum I own a 2007 Corvette and need to change the Shocks.( I do not have the adjustable ride shocks) I like a firm smooth ride and any help that I can get on getting just a little more ground clearance would be awesome.
Thank you for your time
larry go get bilstein b6 or b8. i have the b8 shocks and they make the ride more firm than stock. b6 are like stock replacements
Larry, I went with the Bilstein B6 on my 07 and am very happy with them.
Just don't get them from shock warehouse. They have competitive pricing but horrible service. I was shorted a mounting kit and ended up buying one from Summit Racing after months of multiple attempts and promises from them to send the missing kit to me.
Remember the shock does NOT have an effect on the height of the ride but your factory lowering bolts do. Only problem there is that if they're already at the highest setting you're out of luck getting it any higher. See the above post for a U-tube link to how it's done. There's several different video's on that site, the first is kind of a joke, look at the "Project Z06" post for the most informative.

Do you have the base suspension or z51? I have the bilstein b6 shocks on my base suspension car and quite like them. With the stock shocks the car felt a bit floaty over roads that were up and down, and if I took a corner at high speed and hit a bump the car would feel a little unsettled. Both problems were cured with the b6 shocks. It feels a little more firm, but not much. IMO those are the shocks the car should have came with. I got them from rock auto
