I have a 2005 Corvette with the Mag Ride control option. These shocks have been leaking since I purchased the car and ride a bit rough so I'm considering replacing them with something else (the replacement price on mag shocks are really high!). I'm in the middle of doing a widebody conversion on my base car and I already have Z06 sway bars ready to go to match up with the wider tires. I've heard good things about the Z06 shocks but I'm not sure if I can run them without the Z06 springs properly, is this true? The car isn't autocrossed and is only used for casual/light spirited driving, what would be the best shock replacement for a daily driver type option?

Huge fan of Koni FSD. Internal valving system provides softer dampening for high frequency impacts (e.g., potholes, road irregularities) and stiffer dampening for low frequency compressions (e.g., going around corners). The result is a much more comfortable ride on the street for daily driving compared to the stock GS shocks they replaced, without losing control and stability on the track. I won't claim they are as effective as a fully functioning Mag Ride setup, but if you want to move away from that system, they are an excellent option. A bit pricey compared to some of the other options out there, but still a lot cheaper than Mag Ride shocks and Koni makes a top quality product.
I had the soft ride shocks with sways and felt like I was driving a Cadillac. Switched to z06 bars and shocks and was a good compromise. You do not need zo6 springs to add this package especially for a DD.
I installed 2013 Z06 shocks and Z51 bars on a 2013 base coupe four years ago, and I am delighted with the results. We use this car for day long road trips on two lane roads, so ride comfort is important. But the combo does provide significantly better response for occasional light duty track days. I won't say it is as good as a Z51/Z06 set up for pulling lateral Gs, but it is a definite improvement over what it was. I even like the slightly firmer ride, if feels more like what I expect from a sports car.
I did the work myself, in my garage, my tools, although I did have to buy a special GM tool for setting torque related to the stab bars. Replacing the springs at the same time might have been beyond what I could do, I don't know, but it would have significantly increased cost.
Best of all, the new parts have GM tags on them. This might be significant, because I have had the car appraised a few times recently, as I am selling or trading it as part of buying a C8. (Hoping for delivery late May.) No one has noticed the "mods" and tried to ding me for them.

Are all the shocks leaking? With the mag ride you don't have to replace in pairs. So if you only have one leaking, it might be cheaper/ easier/ better to replace the one with a mag ride shock than to replace all 4 with something else.
Also, if you find them too hard, you could look into a Jim Mero module

This ^^^ and check to see if they’re actually leaking vs just seeing some fluid seepage.
