I attended a Corvette/Mustang show yesterday. It was not Corvette against Mustang there were awards for each group. This was the second year for this show and while we had more Corvettes than Mustang the car count was down from last year. Last year we had 110 Corvettes show up compared to 93 Mustangs. I did not get any pictures of the Mustangs, but I did walk through and nothing against them, but I would say that about 90% of those there were the standard 5.0 bone stock, but they were all very clean. Here are some of the Corvettes;
Interesting air intakes on some of those C6’s. Routed to the left fender well area, wonder if they get just as “cold” air as routed the OEM way.
Beautiful Vettes!!! As for those Mustangs, I have a LOT of respect for those 5.0 Coyote's!! Did prototype machining and work for leak test machines that tested for porous castings. You could tell this was going to be an outstanding engine. Probably the finest 5.0 (302!) V8 design to come along yet.....But I think that new flat plane 5.5 GM design is going to rattle quite a few cages. I'm surprised that nobody has come up with a 4 valve head for the LS/LT V8s. The blocks are fine, just take a 4 valve head design to bring them in line with the latest technology. It would cool to do with pushrods!! Harley Davidson has done just that with their newest V-Twin. Anyway, sure love those C1s and Mid-Years....
I see those 2 old guys ( I am 73 BTW) with the gray hair and the white shorts at ALL the corvette shows. THey really get around. ANd thanks for the pix. I also enjoy seeing vettes from any year dressed up for a show. Thanks for sharing.
