Back in a C6
So, this one is an 06 Lemans blue, 3LT, Z51, J55 car with the 2.56 gears. It only has 71K miles and "appears" to be all stock. I say appears because when I looked closely, it looks like the radiator shroud in front was previously cut for a Vararam. I'm going to pull the air cleaner assembly today to verify that. If it is already cut for that, I'll get a Vararam setup for it, otherwise I'm looking at the Airaid setup as I like the wide over-radiator design.
Since it is WAY too quiet with the stock exhaust, I have an appointment Saturday morning to install the Borla S-type over-axle kit I bought yesterday. I also have a nice merge style x-pipe that I want to have installed at the same time. Since it turns right at 1500 at 70, I'm hoping I'll be good with interior sound/drone. I'm usually a Flowmaster guy, but I really love the scream of the LS with these types of mufflers.
It's a DD, so not looking to build a race car, just nice and a little better performing and sounding than a dead stock car. I may end up doing a widebody on it just because I love the look of the steam roller tires from the back.
The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
I purchased a 2011 GS A6 (auto) 3 weeks ago and I'm enjoying it too. Yes, the A6 Vettes are quick. I too have frequent knee issues which contributed to my A6 decision. Folks say that if you get it tuned then it will be even more enjoyable to drive. Tuning can remove some of the torque management, firm up the shifts and also quicken the reaction of the paddle shifters (none of which may interest you).
Enjoy your car, and YES I too enjoy the "steam roller" tires in the rear.

We used to call the steam roller look "Flintstones tires" :P
