OEM Nav/Radio doesn't recognize CD's of any type. At first I thought that it was just the MP3 ones that I had, but it turns out that even commercial CD's get the same message...."No CD Loaded" Everything else seems to work OK. From what I understand, I can't even buy someone else's unit to put in due to the security function of the unit. I am not at the point of wanting to replace it with one of the many new systems that a lot of folks have chosen. So my question is this...is there someone or someplace that can troubleshoot my unit?
If you have access to a air compressor or purchase some compressed air in a can, blow it out as it might just be dusty. The cleaning disk suggested is also a cheap purchase to see if it will fix your issue.
So I tried blowing the CD player with compressed air and got the CD DR disc player cleaner and it still it is a no go....A friend thinks that it my be that the rubber drive belt could be broken. Has anyone ever pulled their Nav/Radio and done any disassembly to it? Is there a place that works on these units? Or should I just buy someone else's unit that they pulled to upgrade to apple play etc. ?
You should check with your local car audio shop to see if they will work on something like this or know someone who can. In todays world it is probably cheaper to replace than repair a head unit.
AFAIK, and having taken a few CD players apart, they are direct drive. No belts involved. Lots of possibilities now. Burnt out laser, seek mechanism broken, electronic component failure such as a burst capacitor, bad solder joint on the circuit board. It’s a mass produced consumer electronic device made by the lowest bidder. An electronics shop might be able to fix it, but there’s got to be some working used units for sale out there given the number of head units that have been swapped out. If you are intent on keeping a Denso unit, I’d go the used route.
I suggest going with a good quality aftermarket system, if you don't want to go that route, try looking in the "C6 Parts For Sale/Want To Buy" section of this forum, you see good used ones there for sale all the time, which you can probably get cheaper than it would cost to fix yours, you'll just have to go to the dealer to get it married to your car with a Tech2. https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...le-wanted-115/
Does anyone know how long it takes to marry a new OEM NAV/Radio to the car with the TECH 2 unit? I have heard as little as 15 min to as much as 1.5 hours....not sure what to believe.....has anyone had it done before?

Should be a 10-15 minute job, alls they have to do is hook up their tech 2 to the car and add the head unit info. If they're quoting you 1.5 hours, they're ripping you off.
