Needing some ideas. My 2006 said no key fob detected. I went and got new battery and put it in the fob. The next morning I tried starting it and it is completely dead. Doors won't open, it won't click or do anything. I drove it 2 days before this and wasn't sluggish starting. Any ideas are appreciated
You probably have a poor battery in the fob, check it's voltage. Many Vette owners are finding out that they should get their battery from some place that sells a lot of them, like WalMart. Also check to be sure you've installed the battery in the fob correctly.
Also be sure your fob is not in the same pocket with a phone or something else blocking the signal. And be sure you don't have something plugged into the electrical outlet in the console.
Try putting the fob into the slot in the glove box in order to start the car. That slot doesn't need the battery in the fob. It produces voltage from the car. See if you can start the car with that fob in that slot.
Disconnect any battery maintainer etc that might be hooked up. Use the hatch/trunk key and the emergency door release in the hatch/trunk to open the door. Pop the hood. Get a voltmeter and measure the voltage across the car battery. Should read 12.6 volts. At 12.3 volts, the battery is 50% discharged. At 12 volts, battery is pretty much dead.
