I’m thinking about replacing my battery, it’s four years old. Never had any problem, always on battery tender when parked in garage. I am looking at the Durolast battery. Anybody else use this battery? What does everyone recommend from Auto Zone, Advance Auto, places like that. It would be for a 2007 Z51.
Thanks guys
Walmart Everstart Maxx. 5 year warranty. Performs just as well or better than more expensive batteries. Walmarts are everywhere so if you have an issue with it on the road you'll be able to get it replaced easily.
Your gonna get opinions on different brands, I use ACDelco. I think there is only 2 or 3 companies that make batteries and put all the different mfg names on the batteries.

Buy an AGM battery. They are much less prone to leaking than a regular flooded cell lead acid battery. The computer and wiring under the battery tray won't get damaged from leaking acid if the case or a terminal cracks. They also tend to have a slightly higher reserve capacity and cold cranking amps. I bought a Duracell AGM from Sam's Club.
I've been using Duracell batteries from Sam's club. They last, they're fine. Frankly I think there's overall very little difference between all the labels. So get one that convenient for you and with a good warranty.
I just bought a battery from Napa. Got *** discount. Was $125. BTW, I got 10 years out of my original battery. Replaced it because I noticed it was cranking a little slower. New one cranks way faster.

As BadAV stated, with a computer factory mounted under the battery tray an Absorbed Glass Mat (AGM) is an extra piece of mind. I have the OptimaRed Top Battery, Group Size 35, 720 CCA

That only happened to C5 Vettes. C6 Vettes have moved the computer and harness from under the battery tray.

Are you sure? I've seen reports on the C6 forum more than once of the same issue. NOT first hand experience, and I haven't personally looked. I figure better safe than sorry, plus I am arguably getting a better battery.
Other than individual experiences with good or bad luck with a particular brand, I think you would be hard pressed to determine that one particular brand is better or worse than another. As others have said, Autozone and Walmart are good places to buy as they have lots and lots of stores to bring it back to in case of failure. Having said that, I put an AC Delco battery in mine because it "looks right' That is just my personal preference, I have an interstate in my other car as a friend is a dealer, but I think the green battery just looks out of place in a Vette.
I have many tuned cars out there using wal-mart batteries 5-year warranty and some get new battery free every 2-3 years just by walking the still good used battery in, new one with another 5 year warranty free, strange business model? Oversight?
Personally I like the Mighty Maxx Sealed Lead Acid 35AH $60 unit is my favorite, I have had one for 5 years now, it sits outside and gets abused daily, starts up V8 5.3L better than the large typical lead acid battery due to higher baseline voltage. I also keep a spare one in the trunk for emergency jump box situations.
The reason I like them is because
1. low cost $60~
2. Lightweight and small size
3. Resting voltage is 13.2v instead of 12.65v that a typical lead acid battery has
4. Sealed so no vapors no issues in the trunk or with leaking
5. Can use typical post connectors like a normal battery so you can go back and forth to the wal-mart style without changing posts
Google "Best automotive battery" and take a look as the various reviews. There are several "Top Ten" lists which several batteries will appear on. It seems that the AC Delco is one that appears on several top ten lists. Others like Optima, Interstate, Duralast and others share the lists.
I just replaced the battery in my WRX last week. Never a problem, then out of the blue it suddenly would not start or charge. I was mildly annoyed until I looked at my maintenance log and found that I bought it in 2014. I also found the receipt in the glove box. I can't complain with 8 trouble free years.
It was an Advance Auto Parts Autocraft Gold. Advance Auto sells them as DieHard Gold batteries now. I was told it's just a name change and it's the same battery.
I also bought the same battery for my Corvette in 2019, so I'm hoping I get the same life out of it.
