Just received a set of Eagle Eye headlights (they look identical to the Anzos) and looking forward to a hopefully smooth install. I am cautiously optimistic some of the issues I’ve read in a few bad reviews of this product will not be my case. That being said I was a little disappointed to get absolutely no product literature included (wasn’t expecting directions or anything but a spec sheet or adjustment tips would have been nice). I’ve watched every install video I can find and it looks pretty straight forward (going to try to do it without completely removing the front facia) but would love to hear any tips or advice others who’ve done this have.
Specifically, I haven’t seen anyone address what to do with the extra gasket material these units have. Somewhat obviously I believe it needs to be bent backwards and squeezed in to the fenders but there doesn’t seem to be enough material to do it all the way around the lens.
I’ve also seen one video which the installer indicated the need to replace the tabs for the screw at the very front of each fender? Plenty of others that didn’t note that so I assume if I’m careful they’ll be fine to reuse but it does raise the question about additional pieces I might need. Anyone have to replace anything to button it all back together beyond the headlights?
Anyways, all advice/tips appreciated and thanks in advance!
FWIW, I had Eagle Eyes in my 02 Grand Prix GTP and went thru several sets due to the bulb reflectors breaking and ending up rolling around inside the assemblies. Don't know if they have fixed their quality control issues or not but take it for what it's worth.
Well, dang, hadn't heard that before. Was thinking it would be a temporary fix while I figure out how to relens my OEMs (maybe more temporary than I thought).

They may be fine, my OE headlights were badly cracked and faded (bought the car as a non running project) and OE assemblies were stupid expensive vs the value of the car and they had great reviews but mine haven't held up. Another issue I had is I had to swap the old mounting brackets to the new lamps because I couldn't get them even close to aligned properly, when they were properly illuminating the road there was a huge gap between the lamp.and fender, I sent them back and got a replacement but they were the same,.luckily I hadn't thrown my OE parts.away.
Thanks for the replies C6VetteLover. Got them installed and pretty happy with the results so far. A few observations for anyone else going with these lights. No problems with their functioning and everything works as it should. Build quality seems pretty good (time will tell though) except for the gaskets. As I folded them back into the front and fender areas there was way too much material in some places and not nearly enough in others. Had to really work at it to get an acceptable fit. Adjusting them is not fun as I had to again remove a few of the fender screws and pull it back to even see the tiny Philips adjustment screw (should have looked carefully for that before I put them in). Couldn’t reach it with a standard length screwdriver and a long one wouldn’t clear the adjacent radiator shroud (not sure what that parts called). Had to basically build the perfect length with a bit, extension, and small ratchet.
Not sure what’s going on with the left side. Took it apart and tried to reposition it without much difference and it’s still not quite sitting in there as well as the right (you can see this in the pic). Head scratcher …I wonder if my car has been in a little unreported fender bender and either the body panels or the headlight housing is a little off. …Planning on tearing it apart and trying again at some point (maybe some washers on the rear mounting bolts will push it in the right direction. Any observations and suggestions would be appreciated.
Well, not quite the stellar results I was hoping for but they sure look better than my old hazy OEMs.
