So I got the classic “Service Traction Control” and “Active Handling” DIC’s for the first time in awhile. Turn off and turn back on, and the car acts like it’s in limp mode.
I am sorry if there’s a sticky or if this is repetitive but I got these codes from the auto parts store.
What’s been done to the car:
1. BCM replaced @ dealer July 2021 (not even a whole year)
2. Battery and Alternator replaced/self (sept. 2021)
3. SWPS replaced (@ dealer) (March 2022)
4. new alternator (July 2022)
I’m still getting used to the forums since I’m barely owning my c6 since 2021 of last year. Overall, great car but electrical headache.
Sorry to hear about your troubles. Do you know you can look up the codes on Google, for insight
pretty much just communication codes between the modules. Overall, I’ve been trying to pinpoint this issue for months. However, it continues to come back. hopefully it goes away randomly again but I just need to get a daily driver now. Then I’ll be comfortable dropping more $$ on it.

Ah ok, well, I had this sort of issue with my Mazda and it DID not comeback after clearing the codes. I have absolutely no idea what's going on. Sorry can't be more assistance.
I'm guessing, but it could be something simple like a bad wiring connection. Suggest you go thru all the wiring both in the engine compartment & under the seats. Check all the connector blocks; clean all the terminals & reconnect with a bit of dielectric grease.

so the dealership stated that their electrical dept. found TCM issues,
The transmission dept stated the same thing
and the Shop Foreman sourced it to the TCM.
this is good news for me because if it was the BCM, then I’d have to hope the one I sourced is good because the BCM’s are discontinued now. However, they don’t think it’s the BCM so hopefully the TCM is the issue.
overall, the possibility of a short/ bad wires is still present bc it happens after awhile of taking it to the dealer. The BCM fix lasted 3 months until I got the “service active handling/TC” DIC’s so hopefully this is the permanent fix
