Default Electrical issues

Hi folks, I was wondering if anyone else had these issues.

I have a 2008 C6 3LT. Recently, my driver side control buttons(window, lock, unlock, mirror control, and seat memory) have been not functioning. The button to open the door is still working fine. All of the other buttons will occasionally work but not consistently. The theft deterrent light has been consistently on as well, even while driving. The horn was also having issues, as in it wouldn't stop honking so I pulled the fuse for that. Thanks in advance.

I suggest you go to Autozone etc. for free get done 1). Your charging system tested (includes battery), 2). Codes read from the computer (what error codes is the computer showing)

I do this all the time, for various reasons. Don't know if it is correlated to what you are seeing, however worth the shot (take 30 min).

As these cars age, all the electrical contacts and sensors age and get dirty. Make sure your battery is strong. Otherwise, there could be miscommunication between the ECU and the components you are having issues with.

Had a similar problem......the first thing I did was replace the battery. Living in AZ we obviously have the heat issue which will kill batteries. Sure enough, I had a dead cell in the battery (22 months old....) on a 3 year warranty. Changed the battery, and voila...problem solved. Just FYI......

Battery test came back good, alternator test came back good. No codes showing. I pulled apart the door and all the electrical contacts were surprisingly clean. I'm thinking a wiring issues? Its weird because the button to open and close the door works fine, but every other button on the door panel is non responsive.

Thanks for checking the charging system, that rules out electrical gremlins, from here which can happen...

As far as the next step, the only troubleshooting I know is to check the terminals/connections. I can envision some liquid getting in there to corrode, however seems you already did that.

if its working some of the time you likely have a short or half break in a wire on the door harness pack. Seeing as it affects multiple things I'd wager to say its a shared ground. See if you can find a pinout for the door and test from there. Could possibly be on the car side as well so dont rule it out, make sure you have key on power at all the terminals on the connector that call for it. I found this but no luck on the pinout. Anyone with AllData should be able to pull it up for you.
