If all goes well.......I hope to soon be a new C6 owner by this time next week. I have been thinking about a C5Z or a base model C6, and I came across a 2006 C6, base model, with my absolute FAVORITE color, Daytona Sunset Orange Metallic.......with manual transmission, Z51 and 3Lt packages......and very low mileage of 13,600 miles. I think it is absolutely STUNNING, and I hope to join you folks here on the C6 forum to learn more about the car. Never even driven one yet......but I bet I will be happy. I have been a longtime forum member over on the C3 side, owning both a 77 that I complete did a body off restoration, and currently a 69 convertible......which is a BIG project, currently as far apart as a car can be. I guess I like Corvettes!!
Its not Atomic Orange......its Desert Daytona Sunset Orange Metallic (DSOM). It is darker than Atomic Orange.
In my research, it appears it was only ordered on 930 coupes (base model). I think it is an absolutely stunning color. I first saw it on a C7, and it looks REALLY nice on a C7....as there are some nice black highlights that really make it special. Over time, I may consider black wheels and a black rear spoiler,....which I think will set off the color really well.
Congratulations - I think both the orange colors look great, yours does look darker than AO. I’d never driven a Corvette until I test drove the 09 in my garage. I think you’ll really appreciate the contrast between your new C6 and more vintage Vettes. Best of luck with everything going smoothly and enjoy!

Congrats!!
FYI - the color name is actually Daytona Sunset Orange Metallic.
Yeah.....I don't like the idea of drilling holes in the factory parts to mount a spoiler.......may just skip it. I certainly don't think it has any performance benefit.
