I just want to thank the member who came up with the following method of gaining access to a C6 with a dead battery. I read all the threads on the subject, but this is the best:
Remove the outer driver side taillight. Drill a hole into the trunk space. Thread a coat hanger or similar and engage the pull release for the driver side door. (be careful, there is the release for the fuel door and a release for the driver side door near each other).
Having done the above, I now plan on rigging up a hidden pull release somewhere under the rear of the car.
Yes, I know about the key entry above the license plate that opens the deck, but the 2005 year doesn't have the key in the fob so most of us long ago misplaced the key.
Seems to me the best solution would be to get a replacement key.
I watched a guy get into my 2006 one time when I locked my fob in there (it was in my gym bag in the back) using a long rod with a hook on the end that reached down to the floor. The weather stripping is malleable enough where you can get it between the glass and the door frame without much effort. He was able to pull up on the emergency release handle and pop open the door in less than 60 seconds.
My dealer did this last week, They said the drivers window glass should be here today
They didn't call me first to tell them there was a key hidden up under the exhaust

Then it's pretty clear they don't know what they're doing. Mine was done by a professional lock popper.
I agree, but not my issue, they are fixing it and threw in putting on my new to me NPP for free ...
Only cost me a couple of days, the dealer has been standup and is better than my current ford dealers for any of my fords...
