Long time vette lover, short time owner. I recently bought an 09 z51 and everything has been great until this recent issue. Through two different initial inspections, and my own experience this wasn’t an issue but has sprung up recently. I’m beginning to hear a non stop squeak when my car is at low idle but the sound is NOT coming from the engine bay. It actually also makes the same squeak sound when the car is off and I shut a door. It sounds like it’s underneath the car maybe towards the passenger side? What could this possibly be? I am going to take it to a local corvette shop on Monday for an inspection. I don’t think it’s the HB, a pulley bearing, or something under the hood but any suggestions would be great. I know being an armchair mechanic is tough as well. I’ll try to get a video tomorrow.
Since it makes the squeak when the engine is off, I would try to raise the car enough to be able to get under it, while still having the car supported by its wheels. Maybe put blocks of wood under the tires. Then have someone push the body up and down while you are under it to see if you can pinpoint the sound.
Check the rear axle nuts...could be loose and it can make a creaking sound...
I’ll get it up and look at it. Thanks for the suggestion.

I’ll do that this weekend. Thank you so much.

I think as Solaris advised that it is the exhaust. I went down to the garage this morning and shook the exhaust and the *exact* same sound resonated. So I hope I can get under it this weekend and get it figured out!
