I am pretty new to my 2006 C6 and will be ordering some jack pads to use with a floor jack while jacking up the car for maintenance. When you use the jack pads for the jack in the locations shown in the manual, where do you place the jack stands under the car for safety?
I usually put some wood under the wheels first for clearance, then slide a floor jack under and jack up on the crossmember, then put a jack stand on each side on the frame contact locations.
as is works well in the back but for the front you will probably need to remove the extensions and glue the pads to the central bar. When you have the car lifted, there are lots of good places for jack stands. Use them.
If you have a floor jack, I recommend this type https://www.amazon.com/OEMTOOLS-2483.../dp/B00X9LZBDI

Very nice option and I have a floor jack that could work with that. If pads are glued to the center bar for the front, would it still work properly for the rear with the adjustable extensions? Will they adjust high enough? Do you have and use one of these?
I will consider that but have a nice woodworking shop to make the homemade option above and save the cost of a full tank of premium gas... Decisions! Thanks!
Bought these from Amazon ($80 for four of them) to help lift up the front end to get the low profile Daytona floor jack under it. With four of them, raise the entire vehicle 3.5 inches perfectly level in a snap.
I like my Jack Point jackstands. Lifted into this position in about 5 minutes. Pricey but literally not possible for the car to fall off of them. There are YouTube videos on them. Not for everybody but perfect for me here in earthquake country. Added plus is they are made in America by a car guy who wanted something stable to lift his 911 at track days.
Because it doesn't show any jack stands. Anyone crawling under any car with it like this is an idiot. And I certainly wouldn't do this with any of the aluminum frame variants. Grand Sport with its steel frame = no problem.
It was posted in jest, primarily. Some people take things too literally.

Out of curiosity does the alum frame break in half if it does a wheelie? Or bend into a banana?

I remember seeing a video about these. I immediately checked them out to see how much they were. You are right, they are pricey, which is why I didn't buy them. They seem like an awesome product though!
