I usually keep my 05 on a trickle charger. Last week,my wife drove it to an event. She went out to start it and it was dead. I went to jump it,nothing. I called for a tow truck,he came out and checked the battery and cables again. He removed the cables and was preparing to load the car, and it started. Fast forward to the weekend. I drove it to Walmart. As I was leaving Walmart,it completely died. Everything shut off and it wouldn't start. A passer by had cables, we attempted to jump it, nothing. He left. Another passer by, stopped and as soon as he connected his cables(same type), it started. The only thing that has been done recently, was Bullit mufflers.Auto electric shop has had it for a day and hasn't found anything. Thoughts?
First thing that comes to mind is bad battery cable connection. My 05 is finicky. Even if they are right it sometimes won't start. I adjust the connection at the battery and retighten and she comes back to life.
reminds me of when the solenoid on my starter broke from heat. Exhaust heat tends to crack the ceramic/plastic whatever it is. It would not start hot but when it had a little time to cool down it started. Until the time came when it would no longer start.
First thing is check the battery voltage. If it’s good and car doesn’t crank I agree with a starter solenoid issue. But make sure terminals are clean and tight
Is it a stick? Also ,cell phones have been known to mess with the electronics in early c6's... GM had (still has?) a reflash for the computer due to what's known as DBS in 05 manual cars.Don't know if that's what you are experiencing but could be. Even some automatics had the issue.
