In the last year I had the car go into low power mode a few different times after a "spirited" acceleration in first or second gear. I disconnected the battery to reset the computer, and it seemed to do the job. Hadn't had any complications for a number of months, until last week. Going to a Corvettes and Coffee cruise in (Cave Creek, Arizona)and sure enough, hit it hard going onto the freeway and the car went into low power mode. Pulled over and did the battery disconnect to reset the computer, and this time it didn't resolve. Tried it again after tapping the accelerator (I had read about the possible accelerator malfunction), and this time it reset and we went on our way. I had already checked the connections at the throttle body, and cleaned the pins in the plug, and did a OBD check for codes. P2138 came up (no check engine light by the way)....and one of 2 Accelerator Pedal Position sensor codes that "usually" means you'll need a new accelerator pedal assembly. I decided to just get the assembly and installed it myself. The most difficult thing about it was just getting into the car so I could see the damn release "clip" on the plugs wiring assembly. Finally figured it out, pulled the plug The old original accelerator pedal assembly from 2007 and 2 bolts removed and it was out. New assembly installed, and so far so good......no codes, and the car is running just fine.
Glad you were able to quickly diagnose and repair. this one would fall into the kind of problem I would experience.
the only 'issue' that I've over years when doing extremely spirited runs, I'll get the passenger side belt light to come on (with no passenger). it'll stay illuminated until then next off / on cycle.
After an all out peddle to the metal run up to 140mph, I noticed a slight miss beginning at 6k RPM in every gear.....by the time I got home the car would not idle at 7-800rpm.......no check engine light or codes. I'm hoping it's either a dirty throttle body plate or dirty MAF sensor. I'm going to investigate tomorrow........I'll let you know what find out...any other suggestions?
It ended up being a dirty TB butterfly on both sides. I decided to not only clean the TB butterfly, but also polish the TB interior itself. No issues since.
