Default Header latch micro switch

I am hoping someone can tell me the part number for the header latch micro switch on my 06 convertible?? I have searched online for hours with NO luck. Any help would be appreciated.

I’ve read before of people repairing the switch, if the switch actuator arm just needs adjusted.

I took the switch out. It kept getting stuck. While working with it the spring inside crapped out. I bought this Vette in Sept. 2022. The car sat in a garage for many years. The mileage was 6,320 miles. Several things were kind of stuck from not driving the car.
I refused to pay $100+ for the latch switch harness. I bought a pack of 10 similar switches for $12. They were just slightly to big. I filed one down enough to fit. I soldered it it and has worked perfectly. Case closed.

Mr. Harris - I am experiencing the same situation as yourself. In the windshield header there is a micro switch on the drivers side that has a little metal strip that presses against a switch to indicate that the convertible top is in position. Do you have the latch switch harness part number? Also where did you purchase the pack of switches that yo bought? Thank you in advance

Racer, I got a pack of ten switches on Amazon. They were Twidec KW11-3Z03 mini micro switches. The job is a bit tedious. It's OK to cuss
while installing the switch. Be patient. It took two tries before I got it to work. It has been working fine since then. Yow will have to take a small
file to shave down the sides of the switch just enough so it will squeeze into the area tightly. When soldering the wires to the switch I put a box under the area
so it would not burn the seats or carpet. I believe I cut the middle lead off on the switch. A volt meter will tell you which lead to cut.
Buy not buying the GM harness/switch that cost $100+, I was able to buy 3 cases of Heinekens!
Good luck and once again be patient. The cost was only $8.20 for the ten. Hope this helps you out. Wm.

Mr. Harris - thank you for your response. I have been trying to find the part number since November. I spent 2 hours at the dealer yesterday hoping to find the part number along with other part numbers. They are ordinarily excellent so I can not fault them there.

Thanks for the info. The dealer said my micro switch is bad for the position top switch. Is this the same switch that went bad for you? if so, how did you do this process. Cut the wires of the old switch and soldered it? And I do not have that latch on both switches. I was hoping I could find the same micro switch with no avail.

FedExGirl1 - you are really taxing my old brain. I found the part on eBay. The switch actually plugs into the connector in the header. I posted the following for future reference:

The part I was looking for is actually called ‘folding top front latch striker’. The part number is 15822673 and is no longer available. I was able to purchase one used on eBay in excellent condition.

I hope this helps

If that's the one that mounts on the top of the windshield by the sunvisor, it's no longer available. I found one used last year on Ebay. If you are looking for the 5th bow switch that mounts on the passenger side by the hydraulic pump, I've been looking for a new or used one for the last 18 months or so. There was a place that repaired them but no longer does, said they cannot get the microswitches any more. Good luck.

It is the #5 position switch and I bought one from Alibaba today and we will see how big it is when it comes in. I also bought 10 micro switches from amazon and will try to Make it work too. The wiring can be changed to plug into the prong versus wire coming out of it. Dino's corvette salvage will rebuild yours for $200, but I think I can do it too. Oh well I have 5 months before the top needs to work so I'm sure I can get it done. does your position switch #5 has the metal thing on top of the plunger?

On that 5th bow switch issue, the Vette mechanic at the dealership diagnosed that for me. Personally, I've not had it out but that's on the list of things to do. As far as Dino's repairing them, it's still on their website but when I talked to them (actually twice) the guy I talked to said they haven't done them in a while because they've not been able to get replacement microswitches.
As far as that 5th bow switch goes, it causes a "Top Not Secure" msg, but all you have to do is hit the reset on the dash and it goes away.
If you do get a functional replacement switch, I'd love to know where you got it along with the info on the switch. Thanks.
