Default Does anyone know what this is

Hi, I just came across this weird wiring thing pointing out of the front grill that is just eating at me. Can anyone identify it and tell me what it is? I feel like it may be a for the battery or something but I may be completely wrong.

Bonus for you! the previous owner routed it—saved you time (&back pain) with those hard to reach angles and low to the ground

Definitely the quick disconnect for a battery tender, but - it's missing the protective cover. You can see how corroded the terminals have become. Corrosion and electrical stuff - never a good thing. In the pic below of a compatible extension cable you can see the cap on one end.

100% it's a battery tender hook up. Useless if you don't have the other half of the connector. I modified mine to run a magnetic pigtail instead of that style.

Everybody calls that an SAE connector. Supposedly there is and SAE spec for it but I've never found the spec.“The SAE connector is a hermaphrodite two-conductor DC connector commonly used for solar and automotive applications (also motorcycles). It is so named for the Society of Automotive Engineers who created its specifications.” Wikipedia

Don't think that's road rash, just wet. And yes, it's a battery tender extension for sure. Nice to have it there.
