i guess i was 'lucky' in that I got my C6 after my divorce & my two daughters were a bit older than. otherwise, I may have had to settle on an SS Camaro instead. though that option may now be the on the horizon too.

I had mine before ethe wife and kiddos came.around.. makes for a different experience for sure. Lots of women see a guy with a nice newer car and want to give him kids and take it away from them.

I purchased my 2006 in 2009 C6 with very low miles. That didn't last long. It now has 120K+ miles on it, as we use it for all of our road trips from May-November. It gets into winter hibernation from Dec -April each year.
It's up to each individual what they want from a vehicle. Some only to sit at car shows, other driven a few times a week or month, etc. I have a friend with a 2008 Z06, with super low mileage. , He replaced the heads for Big$$. The only time it sees sunlight ( I mean the car cover does) is when he open the garage door, which it sits alongside a car covered 1975 Corvette that hasn't moved in at least 30 years.
What a waste IMO.

Absolutely beautiful car. Wish mine had the grey wheels. Mine is the same except it has the chrome wheels.

while I do believe it is your car, and you do with it as you please, I also realize that we all have our level of satisfaction / needs.
I'm not going to try and change any ones minds on what they should or should not be doing.
I feel bad sometimes for the car, when I feel that I've driving it too much. I'm still working ( for maybe another 6 months ), so I'm commuting with it about 3 - 5 days a week ( back up ride is a 2003 Honda Accord, 178k miles, had since new ).
I plan on driving them both till they can no longer be useful.

My 2013 has 3300 miles as it sits tucked away for the winter. I have a commuter car and truck that gets more attention, plus a 4 year old that keep me busy. Driving the Vette every once in a while makes me fall in love all over again. Of course when my son gets older we will drive it more and more

My story is, that I bought my 08 in 2018 with 10,000km (6k miles). I am the 2nd owner. It's my first Corvette, and in fact, first Chevy since a 74 Vega that I crashed,
It was originally owned by the CEO of a car dealership chain (including a few Chevy/Caddy) in Newfoundland.
It had been service annually...1000km (6oo miles) yearly. I presume it was solely oil changes. Apparently he had a 2019 ZR1 on order then...which he's probably using the same way.

5 years later, I now have 16k miles on it. So, I've averaged 2k/yr.
This car was bought as a toy for me, and frankly, being retired now (a bit of work from home) and I enjoy maintaining, it as well as making a few tasteful upgrades.

But, I simply have few places to go with it that aren't much easier and convenient with one of my other, more practical cars. In other words, to me, its like a "bull in a China" shop to use for errands, being so low and wide for parking and kinda overkill, especially for such short trips.
So, its reserved for more special excursions...a few fun road trips each summer (an exercise in restraint), and a few easy track days (I do trailer it to those events).

While its not deemed as a special, rare type version, it is very special to me, and I'm cognizant that I may be affecting its value by actually enjoying it.
Perhaps more so these days, it being a "last of its kind" type of car...being a manual, and big V8.

But no matter...it was not purchased as an investment (not that mine are great these days!), and the joy it brings when it fires up, and comes to life, makes it very special...an 'event' of sorts. And damn if I'll go through this life depriving myself of that pleasure.

I wish you could have more miles on it. i did not buy mine to save for the next person. i also did not buy it with the thought of even selling it ( although during some issues that popped up along the way, the thought did come up now and then. ).
I also don't baby it too much either. if i wanted a cruiser, this may not have been my first choice. luckily though, it does that chore easily enough too. it's a Corvette, I'm driving it for what it was designed for. without being too much of an idiot of course.

All great points... My new to me Torch Red 2012 GS has 24K on the clock (1 owner. Weseloh Chevrolet purchase 2012 in Carlsbad, CA, registered in Laguna Niguel... Sound familiar anyone?)

Anyway, a word of caution to all of you lucky low-milers. Yes, it's a great thing to see those low miles, but keep in mind time has still taken its toll. PCV fittings, shrink tubing and seals have all become brittle. Change all fluids, check the vacuum fittings (especially at the booster) and give the AC system a look. Change the cabin filter! It's probably original, and will be full of all kinds of time-based goodies, including possible mouse houses.
Oh - And start driving that thing!

Two years ago a 1987 Buick GNX with 8.7 miles on it sold at BJ auction for $275K.

i love these cars, but talk about a waste. other than greed, what's the point in saving a car like this? as always, to each their own, but for me, that car today would have at least as many miles as the sell price.

They suck to drive and are better to look at and admire than drive.

even real estate would be iffy, but better than cars. especially if EV cars ever take off. which is even more reason to drive the ICE versions.
