Default Another Ride Height Post.

I read somewhere that the rear sits a little higher then the front even if all bolts are at the lowest they be an be, and that some cut part of the bushings off of the rear bolts for a better stance?

Just including this because I have a pair of lowering bolts, and to install then you have to remove the sway bar and a few other things before you can change out the bolts. That being a lot of work I just to see if anyone else heard this too?

To even access the bushing you will have to do the same amount of work. Use the lowering bolts

You can cut the stock bushing with the bolts in place in the car. Just use some piano wire or something similar. I've done it.

Lets back it up, and the ride height bolts are used to corner balance the car.

Yes, you can lower the stance of the car, but still have to make sure that the corner is still corner balanced in the end.

If your just planning on slamming the car, then it going to handle like crap when it not corner balanced in the end. Also to add, you have a limited amount of travel in the suspension to start with, and by just slamming the car, reducing the amount of useful travel suspension that can cause problems as well.

Trust me, in this corners, you need all the suspension travel that you can get, and if you bottom out the suspension while in the concrete groove, the fastest way I know to end up in the guard rail when the tires become un-tacked as you bonce off the bottom of suspension.

To conclude, before you do anything to the car, decide if it just for a cool factor, or if you improving the cars performance instead. Hence any mods to the car, should be done for the later only, and not for cool factor at the expense of performance.

To add, more after market lowering bolts last shorter than a year, so unless you want to have to replace them every 6 months with re-corner balancing, not work the effect to begin with.

Not exactly looking to slam it, but I’ve purchased it from an older gentlemen that has it raised up as high as it can be.

I feel as if I could sleep in my wheel well….

Im just looking to lower it back down maybe slightly lower than stock. And maybe even it out, I don’t drive fast so the rake isn’t really a concern.

This is all good info for people who track their cars. However, the vast majority of owners will never set foot on a track and will never be near the limits of their car.
