Hi all,
I'm curious who has installed a backup camera, and what kind they went with. Has anyone installed a flush mount camera? What model camera and likes/dislikes?
When ever I add Back up cams , I use the license plate mounts. I once tried a wireless that fit over the mirror, but lag time between putting in reverse to seeing the screen was too long..
Mine is in the tag bracket right in the center. The only problem is that it blocks the key hole. If I ever need to get into the car that way I'll have to remove the tag bracket first. Not a big deal until you have a dead FOB battery but just thought I'd mention it.
Even though I put in a new deck that will accept a rear back up camera, I refuse to put one in my car. None of my other past cars had a camera, so why start with this one.
I like the backup camera. My 2017 GS has one and I use it whenever I'm backing up, you have to with that generation. I do need one and will put one in in the near future in my 2007 z06 as I broke my C1 vertebrae in 2 places back in 2010 and have limited turning ability, as in backing up. I have to twist my whole body to be able to look backwards.
If you are purchasing from Crutchfield, check out this Boyo kit. It has 6 different mounting configurations. I liked being able to test different ones. Camera picture quality is excellent. Good luck

A Friend of mine that has a body shop tricked this Chevy logo for my C5. Looked solid on her for a long time, now that she’s for sale, I might keep that cover.
It’s not the right color yet on my new Red Mist 8 delivery next week, yet maybe I can make it work on her and either go black or misty and tuck it under… Best to not yet coppers have nothing to do at times in IL and may opt to hazzle me
I have the Boyo...was about 65 bucks from Crutchfield but I'm not a fan. You move the steering wheel slightly and the camera lines makes it look like you're going to steer into the ditch. It's a little excessive or sensitive.
