I just went through an over the winter battery drain.... I disconnected my battery and got an exchange. Everything was great, I was driving my vette again.
So, on my way to work, some wise guy in a large, LOUD Chevy truck wanted to race. I took off, the tires spun hitting 3rd gear. My dash lit up with warnings- Service active handling system and service antilock brakes. After the car set overnight, the messages went away. A few days later, as I was getting on the expressway, I usually "stretch her legs out a bit".
The rear end kind of skipped and the warnings came back.
My question is, Do I need to reprogram my shocks again since the battery was removed, or do I have bigger issues.
I put Billstiens in and have a TechII to program out the magnetic shocks.
Thanks
I can't speak to the magride but if not needing to be reprogramed my guess is a wheel snesor is going bad or you have an issue with the wiring or plug to one of them.
EXACTLY which lights were being set? If the message was active handling (ESC) and ABS then those are the same module and not the shocks. Probably a wheel speed sensor. Pulling codes would probably tell you. I'm not sure if a basic code reader will do it or if you need a fancy one that will talk to the ABS/ESC unit.
Thanks, I bought a chineese TechII to reprogram the shocks. Someone on here had posted a step by step procedure to doit (THANK YOU VERY MUCH!)
I really don't know how to use it to check codes though. I'll figure it out, maybe.
