The car in in the shop getting the fuel pump replaced so would this be a good time to replace the shift cable bushing at the transmission or is this no longer a concern with this new of a car?
Your car's not that new, and the bushing at either end can fail, so either replace both bushings, or the cable. Will your dealership even replace the bushings, though? They'd have to use aftermarket parts. There's no OEM bushings.
It's just plastic, so it can go at any time. That said, of the car is garage kept, it's likely fine. They're cheap and easy to do though. I wouldn't bother I guess
If I was you and the service department has the cradle and torque tube down for access to the tanks, I would have them install a new cable.
New cable is cheap and since they are “right there” why not.
I replaced the cable during engine work and trans service and it wasn’t that much more of an expense. Your call.
Leaving it alone is all fine and dandy until you can't shift it and you are far from home.
Mine crapped out the day before our last PCS move.
Replace it if is already at the shop.

No warning when my 2006 broke. Sitting at the fuel pumps in the rain. Roll back driver was great and roadside service picked up the tab. Dealer had part on hand and got me back on the road. I was 8 hours from home. I now carry a spare cable with me.
That old adage about "If it ain't broke don't fix it" should not really apply in this instance (IMHO). The reason: there is no warning before it breaks, and when it does you will not be able to shift from whatever position the transmission is in. If this were to happen in your garage, okay fine! But what are the chances if that? Knowing that this part is very susceptible to breaking, and with no warning, and leaving you stranded - why not take the preventive maintenance action.
