Finding rattles can be difficult, noting that even though you think the rattle is in the upper corner it may be in the lower center.
I could offer best is to get a passenger and start placing your hands on everything to find the rattle.
A stethoscope could also be a locating asset.
One area many have mentioned that produces a rattle is outside the car; the plastic panel at the base of the windshield is loose.
If inside the dash, well that is another subject, as the gauge cluster is not to difficult to remove, but the dash pad is difficult.
I've been chasing what sound like the same thing. I think that I've narrowed it down to the HUD control pod. if I push in it hard enough, it does stop the rattle.
I've going to try and remove it and, see what I can do to modify or, add (padding or rubber shims) to tighten it up a bit.
How do I Stop Rattle in dash on my 2013 Corvette Grand Sport?
I had a rattle, that I thought was in my dash. It drove me crazy for about 1 1/2 years. But, it would only happen when the temp was below about 40* I took it to the dealer and they kept the car inside so no rattle. I WD 40ed everything I could think of with no luck. Finally, I offered a mechanic any bottle of liquor he wanted if he could find it. When I came to pick up the car he threw a L shaped shim at me. Turned out it was a fender shim up by the cowl that was expanding when it got cold just enough to touch the underside corner of the hood. Jim Beam please.
Point is; it can be anything

I agree that it can be anything. isn't interesting though how offering the correct compensation, seems to fix the problem?
I'm pretty that mine is dash related (HUD control pod), since when I push on it, the rattle disappears. that brings up the question than, do I buy myself a sixer of Sierra Nevada Pale Ale?
either way I win!
I have heard of problems with the mirror on HUD units. Maybe yours is loose.
I now that mine is the HUD control switch pod. I also think that it is temperature related as well, as the ambient temps get up into low 60's, it does go away. still, I'm going to address anyways.
