Interior Leak!!!
Driving in heavy rain over the past week and my driver side carpet got SOAKED. Passenger side is bone dry.
Thought it might be from top/drain - after I pulled the carpet, seats, etc, I dried it off. Overnight, it rained again - with zero intrusion into the cabin.
I poured some water into the drivers tub and noticed a drip coming through the seat bolt holes. Thinking MAYBE this might be the cause? Anyone have any thoughts? Poured water on the driver side A pillar - water poured out of the fender, none came into the cabin. Same deal with hatch - poured water directly into the udder with the hatch open, no intrusion. I also didnt notice any water leak marks coming through the firewall on the clutch/brake cutouts.
To be fair, the water i drove through was DEEP. like, probably 4-5 inches deep + higher with the wake being pushed by other cars. I did see a car hydrolock right next to me as I was driving through it too.
Thinking of sealing the seat base with pliable butyl + washer..?
TLDR
Water on one side.
Checked top, rear udder, front udder.
Checked clutch/brake cutout.
Seat bolts weep a little water.
Any other places I should check?

The seat bolts definitely leaked some water upwards into my cabin so im hoping I've solved the issue. I also read about the butyl tape sealing the floorpan from beneath in front of the passenger and driver seats and those were still on and sealing.
If I see any more leaks in the future I'll update this thread for posterity. If NOT, and you find yourself in a similar situation - seal your bolt holes!
The car that hydrolocked near me couldnt read deep water for sh*t. I was driving on the road crown and he was making a right turn. instead of making a wide right off of the crown, he went straight into deeper water at the road edge...
