Default Ceramic coating

Had my 13 ceramic coated. They removed the wheels and did a full decontamination, iron removal, paint correction and polish. Then they ceramic coated the paint, glass, wheels and new powder coated calipers. 5 year warranty. Pics don't describe how shiny it is in person. Looks wet it's so shiny

Looks good and I am seriously considering ceramic on mine. Did you go with a delux package that needs a yearly inspection? So many different applicators out there

Unpopular opinion... Ceramic coatings on garage queens are a waste. They make sense on daily drivers that sit outside, but they're a waste for cars that get garaged.

Yes once a year inspection and touch up required.

Just because it's 11 years old and just hit 7500 miles doesn't mean it never gets driven

If your car doesn't need major paint correction you can do a ceramic coating yourself for about $50.00 . Super easy and you can't mess it up. I've used this ceramic coating for about 3 years and it is great stuff. Armour Shield by Avalon King. There are plenty of videos on Youtube.

True but that kind of stuff takes time that I don't have.

It's none of my business how you operate your car but an average of less than 2 miles per day for 11 years is "barely driven".

How are they a waste? They protect against swirl marks when washing (even a two bucket wash method isn’t perfect,) stuck on bugs come right off without scrubbing, and it also makes drying the car after a wash so much faster. I use a backpack blower after a wash and can have the car 100% dry in less than 3-4 minutes.

Ceramic coating is not for everybody. Some people still enjoy applying wax on their car a few times a year. I for one ☝️

You can wax/polish on top of ceramic coatings.

My car is a garage queen and the paint is in very good condition. I washed & clayed the car, washed , dried it then coated it. The total time to install the coating is only about 45 minutes. (or two beers) It takes about the same time as waxing it.

Sure there's all the other magic properties of how you don't need to wax your car for 72 years and all that jazz, but in the real world the grime rejection is the benefit.

On a daily driver, sits outside sort of car, that is a HUGE benefit. Ceramic coating means the car doesn't need washed as often, and it's easier to clean when I do wash it. When it rains out it's like nature washing the car for you. It's a huge perk, and you can get those kinds of great benefits via several spray on products that are quick and easy to use, or via a glass vial product that's not as easy to use but will last longer.

On a garage queen, it's not going to help with dust rejection. If the car is in the garage all the time, you don't need rain, dirt, or grime rejection. A quick blast around towns worth of dust and pollen can be wiped off with a quick detailer in 50 seconds.

Here's the real kicker. There are easier to use products out there. You can get spray version and ceramic infused car washes and all that stuff. And if you're an enthusiast, your probably not gonna not wash or wax your car for 4 years. So why not use an easier to use product, and a ceramic infused wash and wax? You'll get the same benefit and you're gonna be washing it anyways.

The other time I think a real ceramic coating is worthwhile is after doing a full on paint correction, to try to lock that it. Worth remembering though, that ceramic coating is like, microns thick, so it's not going to be an impenetrable wall to prevent minor scratches and swirls from happening.

My car's clone! Ceramic coated with Reflex Pro, $179. Did the wheels and brake calipers, as well. 9,083 miles as of today.
