Today, I was attempting to install a replacement shift **** on my 06 C6 Coupe. Testing the function of the new shift ****, discovered I cannot get the shifter into park. Can only shift to neutral and drive. What the heck did I do? Need Help!
Why don't you post on the other automatic shift **** post? Bigjeff will see it and probably respond. I used the cylindrical ****, and had to push it down on the shaft a little farther to make it go in park.
You got me there, I never deleted one! I guess just let it go. Maybe someone will answer either post.
Thanks. I understand this is common on the C6 Auto Trans cars. Found a video that gives a possible solution. It says to cut a thing which is moved by a solenoid. Going to look and see if I can at least see the thing in the video.
I cut that tab off years ago. Very easy, but I was having problems getting it out of park, not into park. I think it's got to be in the **** if you haven't had any problems prior to that.

Don’t cut anything yet. Cutting the pawl off of the shifter is done to solve the can’t get out of Park problem, not the other way around.
