05 Rear Diff
Hey guys, need some help. I have an 05 z51 manual 3.42 rear end. i blew the rear diff. From everything i am reading, the 05 was the only year they used an inferior rear diff. i believe they beefed them up in 06. I am having a hard time trying to find out what will work to replace it with. OEM is like $3500. Can i use any rear diff that is a 3.42? ive seen a Z06 rear diff, which i think is 3.42. Is there any other modifications if i go that route? OR if i get a 06+ are there any other parts and pieces i would need? Thanks in advance.

Contact RPM like mentioned above by CS, I think I remember that they had to supply a bracket (not really sure about that part) to be able to install the 2006+ assembly but it has been years now.
I just looked and the prices have elevated quiet a bit since my install but I love that I don't have to worry about weakest link of the 05 drive train any longer.
