Battery Cable Corrosion, Cable Unavailable
So the other day I noticed that my battery tender CTEK had a flashing light. I thought it just didn't reset properly after a power outage. I unplugged it from the wall and reset it. A day later and still flashing to I took a look at the battery and this is what I found.
Not something I wanted to see.
So after cleaning off the crud, the cable end it trash. I did some searching for a replacement cable and got no love,
Every site I found listed it as unavailable or discontinued. It is the ground cable for my 2013 ZR1. Now I've got the tools to build a new cable but I really want an OEM replacement cable. Does anyone know of a source for this cable or even the cable end by itself? Being Sunday I have to wait until tomorrow to check with my local dealer but from what I've found I'm not feeling lucky.

Looks like they are all discontinued. I doubt the dealer will be much help, unfortunately. I used to get all my parts from GMPartsDirect.com. I'll also need to find alternatives at some point, I'm sure. Many OEM C6 parts have been discontinued, sadly.

Best of luck.

If its discontinued the rock auto route is your best option if you want it in any reasonable time frame. If your dead set on an OEM replacement you might be searching for awhile because you have to find a dealer or supplier that has one in stock. Honestly for the simplicity of that cable it wouldnt be hard to just make a new one. Probably cheaper too.

B y r o n,
First, may I suggest checking your charging system output, and more importantly, your CTEK output. Overcharging can contribute to that problem. CTEK's are fine chargers, but I've noticed they do not like power events. Just a suggestion -
Second, I can appreciate your desire for an OEM cable. Especially on a ZR1. However, I think StayinStock is correct regarding part availability. Battery cables for the rear mounting location have not been in stock for quite some time. GM is dropping parts for the C6 routinley.
Given that, you might try a call to any GM dealer with a helpful parts counter who can search the part number and provide a dealer name and phone number of any dealers showing stock. It's worked for me. This is an awkward time for the C6 regarding certain parts.
I also found two older part numbers you might consider. GM 15832654 and GM 25909053. Verify to be sure.
Lastly, if your current cable is toast, you might consider an online used part reseller, or a recycle vendor on a popular auction site. I know it sounds like a waste of time, but I've sourced a number of very serviceable parts that were in nice condition that are no longer available new.
Obviously, you have to choose your seller carefully. And most of the reputable sellers have a return policy. Just an option.

There was a Gentleman that had a set of used battery connection cables for a Z06 in the C6 Parts For Sale section. They were posted not too long ago. The battery is in the rear hatch in the Z06 like it is in your ZR1. Try searching for them.

I saw that thread but someone had already said they would take them.
