Not sure on that part number but I purchased this Summit balancer #SUM-C2501 with an ARP boult and GM seal after reading a post on this site. The shop that installed said they do a few of these every year and never had any negative feedback. Just got it back yesterday and no wobble. I hope this helps.

Im going to change my HB out. It Looks like the summit zHB version is $220 and the ATI is ~$500. Does anyone have info on what you get with the higher price? Thx
Hello! new to the forum but I've owned my C6 a bit over two years. I love this car and I'm glad I have an understanding wife. 2011 SSB base coupe, bone stock. 20k on the clock when I took the wheel. Just over 32k and the harmonic balancer started its death wobble. Three Chevy dealers wouldn't be bothered, neither could the local hot rod shop professionals. Meineke stepped up and did the job plus gave me a 12month 12k mi. warranty.. I asked for the ATI and all the ancillary parts and she runs right and tight. Couldn't be happier except for one thing. Its my understanding the new balancer is roughly 10% larger than the OEM unit. Consequently, everything spins a bit faster now. pwr. steering pump, water pump, alternator, a/c compressor. It's since developed a rattle above the transmission. I guess that increase in speed caused the frequency of the in gear, braking, idle vibrations through the drivetrain to get the heat shield rattling. either way, the car runs like a beast, there's no mechanical issue to relate it to, and there's no sense dropping the rear end to look for a noise I couldn't find with out it running. Just throwing it out there to see if anyone else has had this or just to give a heads up to those who may.

A smaller pulley will produce the results you're observing, a larger pulley would cause a slight reduction.

Welcome! I just called over to a meineke in my local area in Columbus, OH and they won't even work on a job like replacing our cars harmonic balancer so you got very lucky you had one in your area that would accept a job like that. I finally found a local dealer to perform the repair job in my area but we are waiting for the part to be shipped over. They will only warranty the OEM part as i asked if I could supply the part. Since your mainly paying for labor, it's a no brainier to go with whatever recommend part they will warranty.
If someone was doing the balancer anyways, how much more incremental work is it to swap the cam? Seems to be some level of synergy there?
A few more bolts and you can have the timing cover off... your pretty much right there at that point. That being said though just remember you gotta do valve springs too, and really you should pull the heads and do lifters to avoid future regret. (ask me how i know lol). If your car is lower mileage you may get away with it but its good peace of mind either way. Just keep in mind if you go that route you may want to address other things (going back to a 3 bolt sprocket, swapping out to the dogbone style tensioner, lots of good info on all this in the tech section. Never hurts to throw an oil pump in while your there since it has to come off anyway.)
In Indy, I’ve been using Slate Performance on the SE side near Beech Grove. They have done excellent work for me so far. They have installed a Corsa exhaust for me, replaced rear end control arms and changed out suspension bolts/bushings in addition to recently doing my HB. Hare Chevrolet recommended them to me initially for exhaust work and I’ve been using them for everything else since. They do good work and are honest.
I had Midwest Motorsports in Carmel do mine. I paid $1500 but they got it in within a day and had it ready to go quickly. The $1500 included the Dayco balancer and new belts as well as an alignment. I had another shop, Norris Motorsports, in Plainfield, quote just over $1000 with the same balancer. Mike Norris is the owner and I think all he does is LS engines. He did not say if that quote included belts and alginment. But I know he does good work. He is a good friend of my nephew, who owns 4Piston Racing in Danville. He says Mike really knows his stuff. I know the guys at Midwest, too. PM me if you want the name of my contact there or any other info. They did outstanding work. the thing is smooth as silk and the alignment was absolutely perfect.
Anyway, I would recommend both shops. I have a high level of confidence in both of them. If I ever do anything to warm up my LS2, Mike will be doing the work. Not sure I will, though. The thing is plenty fast for me now. Lol!
