Looking to re-new insurance, which company offers the best towing options (hope I don't need), currently with Hagerty, looking at NCM, or standalone companies for a policy specifically for this.
They do not offer towing, they offer towing reimbursement up to $250 likely for whomever you pick.
They will hold it against you if you use it more than once. Grundy will not take me as a customer again because I used towing 2x for the same car.
lessons learned, spend the $80 on AAA and not have it held against you and it uses the same trucks and drivers anyway.

I have Hagerty currently until September, was considering switching to Grundy and getting AAA premium. Is that what you would recommend - Grundy with AAA Premium ? Or stay with Hagerty and get AAA ?
Agree with the comment about AAA. I’ve got NCM for my C6 GS and a different carrier for my C4 because I drive it more than the NCM policy allows. I’ve had AAA premium for 5 or 6 years because all of my cars are older than 5 years and the AAA policy covers any/all of your vehicles, whichever one you are in when you need a tow, roadside assistance. I’ve only had to use AAA one time and it was to tow my family vehicle, a 2012 Yukon Denali….coolant line came off and coolant fluid dumped out….immediately whipped her into a parking lot when the dash lights went beserk. Called AAA and towed it to the shop, next day she was fixed and we drove her to our annual beach vacation a day after that. Just my $.02.
AAA premium. I don't often go more than 200 miles away for track days or such. Of course, I always want my car returned to my house,
I also do repairs on my cars driven by my kids so again, want the cars brought to me for work and they are withn a couple hundred miles.
I was once outside the range and paid cash for the difference. I might have had it dropped ;off in range and then called a second tow but it wasn't worth it to me.

grundy is considerably cheaper than Haggerty.
Haggerty has been consistently double to triple every other specialty company in my experience.
Other than the towing bullshit, Grundy was decent to me in taking my money with no frills. I am with American Modern now and was a touch cheaper than Grundy
i would get aaa and any of the others mentioned

Imagine what they would do if you needed them for actual collision claims, uninsured driver ,...etc ? Maybe Hagerty is worth the extra $$$ ???

how is Haggerty worth double to triple even if they paid for the towing direct?
Either you pay for it and they reimburse you, or they pay for it ahead of time.
Either way you are getting towed by the same guy.
Collisions may be different, but I have my doubts.
regardless you get towing assistance either way.
insurance is insurance. File a claim and they change their tune.
have a $500 a year policy and use $400 worth of towing reimbursement and you are now a risk and get dropped.
If you think Haggerty works any differently, you are being naive. I have heard plenty of stories of people getting dropped from Haggerty after a claim

I joined Hagerty last September. Since then i have had a new GM OEM HUD windshield replaced and one tow, i paid $0. Not a word from Hagerty other than "Thank You for driving with Hagerty".

Care to share what plan details you have? To my knowledge this is not typical.
Is this a typical collector policy? Or something else?
I have never heard of a no deductible windshield or free towing with any policy ever, let alone a collector policy.
Edit: I read that they have a premium glass policy that you would have paid extra for that no deductible replacement
it also looks like they have a drivers club that is likely a premium paid service as well to cover towing.

so to be clear, It’s not free.
not only are you paying a lot for the base coverage, you are paying more for the premium coverage.
these are great details and context to add to your post.
to be even more clear though, once you start using it enough that it eclipses the policy amount, you will get dropped. Maybe warned first if you are lucky, and then dropped, but that’s how insurance works when you are a risk.
if you are paying $2500 a year for coverage and need a tow, or a windshield, they don’t care about that.
Do the same on a $500 policy and see what happens

My policy was $1069.00 for one year with a annual max mileage limit of 5,000 miles.

what is your agreed value with the extra drivers club coverage?
either way, get another use of your coverage this year and then come back here next year at renewal and give us an update.
all the carriers I have checked except for Haggerty have been $490-550 for $35k-40k agreed value with $100-250 deductibles. I forget the coverages, but I want to say $250k/500k

Agreed value = $45,000 $0 Deductible 5,000 miles/year limit. They also had a 2,000 miles/year package.

that’s actually not terrible to be honest.
I was getting quotes like that from them for lower value and they didn’t want me to drive the car.
They flat out told me on many ocassions that if I was other than going to or fro a car show and something happened at a stop in between, they would not cover it.
