OE plug wires..... I always change my wires for every plug change... Figure it is better to have the wires just incase of tears, Save a trip to the auto parts store. Also put some dielectric grease in the head of the boot. Helps with water intrusion and lubrication for future changes
Would guess they tear when you are pulling them off.
Likely most of the replies you get will be to replace your wires with a quality set and to lube inside the boots with some di-electric grease so they don't stick to the plugs and coils on later removals.
Multitudes of wire set choices as they are basically the same wires on all LS engines, like Silverados.
If price is a concern, I see a good set of USA made Walker Thundercore wires with good reviews available online for 22 bucks.
I just bought OEM wires on line, even though I have an A & A S/C and head work etc. etc. and they have been working perfectly. Just some information from my point of view......
