Hi to everyone,
I am new to this site and just purchased a 2009 Corvette. I love the car it seems that it may have been garage kept as it only has 12500 miles and is in pristine condition. I purchased it through Carvana but they didn't put new tires on it. The tires are original from week 40 of 2008. I'm in the process of trying to get them to replace them since I've only had the car for a week. Any suggestions on the best tire for daily south Florida driving? Lots of rain and very hot weather half the year.

There are many different brands & tire types for your Corvette & you will get many opinions here based upon the driving style & wallet of others. My suggestion is that you check out at least a couple of the major tire dealers who will be able to help you choose what would be best for you, your driving style & what you wish to spend. Your first two decisions are run flat and summer as opposed to all season. I don't think you have to worry about operation below 40, so seems like a summer tire is the obvious choice. I opted to stay away from run flats, but others like them, certainly your choice. In a summer tire that is not runflat, many here seem to like the Continentals

I’m not sure why a previous post cautioned against run flats (ZP on the Michelins). The benefit of run flats outweigh what for me would be any noise or handling benefits on non- run flats. It is a decision you’ll have to make for your needs. Best of luck.

I bought this set in June 2023 to replace the original Goodyears (made late 2008), on my 09 I bought in 2021, through Tire Rack and Discount Tire mounted/installed. I am completely satisfied. The improvement in the ride and handling are pretty amazing. I can’t personally speak to how they handle in the rain because … you know. I was also happy with the price.

I have looked at many threads regarding RF's vs non. There seems to be no real consensus?
I currently have Michelin PS2 'with' run flats. They seem to heat up quick and stick well at street speeds. I will need a new set soon. Seems with tube tires, you can adjust pressures and would be best for faster speeds and cornering. I would love a definitive answer if there is one on what to order depending on how you intend to use the car.

Corvette suspension was designed with runflats, and since non-runflats have softer sidewalls they won't handle as well at the limits as runflats (generally speaking). I take long road trips in my car so my choice is runflats. I can at least limp the car to a town, while the person with non-runflats is waiting stranded on the side of the road at the mercy of a tow company, hoping they have a rollback and know what they are doing.
Some will say "when was the last time you had a catastrophic tire failure"? Less than 10 years ago for me, in a vehicle with a spare. To me it's a matter of personal choice and how much risk you are willing to take. I don't want to be stranded in the middle of nowhere.

Never heard anyone say that before. Pretty sure the best handling tires are not runflats but would love to hear what others say.
