Default Trying to program BCM

2009 zr1 having a no start issue and when running have traction, brake and abs loghts and messages on the dash. Car finally got to where it would no longer start. New battery, pull and check starter on bench ruled that out. Jump starter relay, car turns over. Check all fuses and relays.

Bought used bcm(same part#) sds2 subscription and have tech2win software.

Go thru sds2 to program the bcm to the car, select replace and program. Software updates bcm all complete.

Open tech 2 get rid of nav lock security code on the nav system. Go to program bcm it says vin and odometer not transferred bcm locked. So i keep going and set brake pedal position sensor, checkoff all the things the car is equipped with. Doors work, lights work, everything seems to work. Car wont start.

Why cant i update the vin and odometer to the bcm?

Any suggestions?

Edit:wrong forum sorry

SPS flash, make sure to do it as replace and flash.

If you just use firmware update instead, then will not marry the new BCM to the car, nor make sure its security locked with the rest of the modules as well.
Note, when flashing the BCM, SPS will tell you to remove the radio fuse, so make sure your following the on line instructions.

As for Radio clearing for nav if using cracked Tech2win, use 2013 Y body type as the car year and type, thengo to body/entertainment,/module set up/vin relearn to marry the radio to the car.

As for BCM, you are away that the crank/run relay for it on the bottom of the unit, and not on top. Also, before when to replace the BCM, did you pull up Data, to make sure that the BCM was showing that the clutch pedal was depressed? Hence problem may not be bad BCM, but bad clutch pedal switch, or just it needed to be relearned to the car if its U fork is worn, and not sending the old relearned ohm reading back to the BCM to show clutch pedal pressed all the way down, to release the needed items before the BCM will crank the starter.

Ok. I got the car running and driving now. The bcm still saying locked with the old vin. Everything on the car works and had to do a crank relearn. There are some hard codes on the bcm showing tonneu cover relay not working, but i assume thats because the bcm came from a convertible. It has the same part # as my zr1 bcm. No cels on the dash and all the abs, traction and brake lights are not illuminating on the dash anymore.

yes verified clutch sensor was working on the old bcm via hp tuners. On sps2 i used the replace and program option. I couldnt find any videos of sps2 being used to reflash. Only sps, which seemed to have more options when reflashing the bcm. Sps2 never mentioned pulling the radio fuse. I'm not even sure you can get sps from gm. I think sps2 replaced it.

AC Delco tds for flashing correct?

If Having problems, then would check the OBDII connector pins/wires from there, to bcm connector as well. Hence should vin flash no problems to begin with.
Also, when you get first pop up screen in SPS, make sure to install the three drivers, and them make sure you select the correct pass through device being used as well.

I bring this up, since you have not stated what device is being used as the pass through device, so not sure that you do have the needed drivers installed on the laptop correctly to start with. If GM nano or clone MDI, then will need to set up VX manager to get the needed device drivers to start with, including the RDS SGM driver as well.

As for once vin flashed correctly, then tech2 win to go to Body, BCM set up, make sure country of use is correct, and then in the RPO code list that will come next, makes sure only items on the car are selected in the list, then make sure to go to end to save before leaving that set up.

Yes. Im going to try and reflash it with the radio fuse pulled this time. And will go into tech2 as a 2013 model not a 2009.

SPS will use the vin number, and if it not pulling it on its own, you have a problem with the device not connecting to the car in the first place.

Cracked Tech2win, short of the 2005 that you can use that year, 2006 to 2012, use 2103 to get the BCM menu.
