Ok, when I get my C6 , from time to time I want to do things to it. Do you guys use jack pucks for this? I have used them on my Mach-e. As some cars are "fussy" as to location of a floor jack, and how its lifted to do your task. I did a forum search, couldnt find anything. If you do use pucks, what "brand" is good? As with everything else. There is good ones to buy and theres cheap junk. Thanks
Hockey pucks with a #2 eye screw are as good as anything you can buy for removable pucks. There is no magic in the lifting puck world. I still use my C5/C6 pucks on my C8. Many of our forum vendors offer pucks in numerous configurations and price points. .

Thanks didnt look in the vendor spot. But in the world of pucks, theres aluminum, poly, etc. And some of the cheaper rubber poly jobs have been known to split and fail. I just want to get a decent set for doing my tasks.
Thanks again for letting me know.
If the mods want to delete this thread, have at it. Just a newbie asking stuff
I have the pucks but honestly have never felt comfortable using them to jack-up my vette. I know, I know over kill but gotta do what I feel is the safest way to lift it. I made this so I can lift from the front or rear and have both wheels off the ground at the same time. Slide my jack stands under and It’s pretty safe to work on when you can’t use ramps. The only expensive part is the floor jack which is needed doing many vehicle projects imo. I bought most of the parts needed from Harbor Freight to make this setup. I modified the Harbor Freight cradle as it was to long and wouldn’t fit where needed under my vette. Anyway it’s not an expensive project is you already have a floor jack in most cases. I think the cradle from Harbor Freight is about 70 and it’s SUPER HEAVY Duty... and excellent for the price imo.
I went with these off Amazon. They do the job by just extending lower than your bodywork and they're easy to see. I wanted to leave them mounted in case I ever rolled into a tire shop or had to get jacked up somewhere by someone else. These give them a target. There's a lot of varieties of this style online.
I bought the taller ones from Katech when I put the ZR1 aero on my 2008 Z06, and I'm glad I did because I've since had two other cars with the side skirts.
I bought my 4 pucks in 2005 when my Corvette was new from BMW parts for about $5.00 each. To this very day 18+ years later they still perform their job and are secured even after scraping on speed bumps.
Forget all of those $$$ high priced fancy pucks for cosmetics/looks that are overpriced .
Well you don't need them but the cheap ones from amazon works fine..and are quiet in the car and take up no room and will never rust... Or spurge and get the 16 dollars set...

Those are pretty pricey, must be the 24k gold plating on them.

Long as they fit in the cup of the jack.
Yeah, but they're anodized.
I spared no expense with that car. Before I put the side skirts on, though, I was also using real hockey pucks that I picked up from the local ice arena. They just weren't tall enough to clear the ZR1 side skirts.

I am fortunate to be able to use Rhino Ramps for 18+ years on my factory 2005 Corvette when I need to go under the car to do my own oil and filter changes. But if a shop must jack the car up I point it out to them there are 4 jacking points with the 4 pucks.
For the past 2 1/2 years, I have the used the $12.95 "rubber" jacking pucks from Amazon. They work perfectly well. My car is lowered to the point where the slim line floor jack barely clears the bottom of the puck, but it does. Never had a problem, with the exception of forgetting a couple of times to remove the pucks, and one of them stayed on the car for about a month. The other puck was long gone. So I had to buy a second set, otherwise, as I said, these work perfectly well.
