Default drone fix?

I have a 2006 convertible with SLP loudmouth 2 exhaust and was wondering if there is a way to cut down on drone short of replacing exhaust.

Drive at an RPM that doesn't drone.

Difficult to do at highway speeds.

No. You might want to look into replacing it with a Corsa system.

Nope. Dropping a gear increases the RPM, all while traveling the same MPH. Give it a try.

Either add Helmholtz, replace with stock NPP, or replace with base exhaust add e-cutouts. These are your best bets IMO.

I've got a coupe with the MBRP axle back system. Drone is very annoying at highway speeds. Using the paddle shifters and dropping a gear eliminates the drone.

Also remember LOUD does NOT mean more Horsepower! It can, but usually does not, at least not through out the RPM band. if the pipe diameter is to large it can make more noise, create a drone, etc. but the engine may actually lose some of it's HP/TQ as it can not fill it with enough exhaust gas pressure to aid in the scavenging the cylinders. The better the exhaust is scavenged the easier it is to make power. Pipe size and bends are designed to help draw out exhaust because as it draws out that exhaust it sucks in the intake charge to fill the cylinder. That give each power stroke a bigger BOOM that helps the next cylinder in the firing order, and so on. The drone is cause by a vibration in the pipes as vibration is what causes any sound. Try adding new or more rubber donuts to the pipes to absorb that vibration, as it may stop it??

I bought Z06 mufflers.
Gonna remove the Corsa extreme, and install the Z06.
Already have rdered 3 to 2,5 inch reducers
Corsa is great when driving open, but at regular highwayspeed (100km/h) to loud for me

First gonna lock the exhaust valve, planning on electric steering off the valve later without the vacuum.
But work keeps me busy till newyear

It was not an option, but can be retrofitted. 2008 NPP is a direct fit for 2006, 2009 and newer NPP will need some modification where the over axle meets to X-Pipe/H-Pipe.

Look into Billyboat exhaust- similar to NPP except butterflies are controlled by a fob (similar to a mild 2 wild kit for an NPP car)
