Default Vanity lights

I've swapped every light in my car to leds except for the sunvisor vanity lights. I avoided those because of the extreme difficulty they have been portrayed to present to swap by members of this forum. Tonight with not much going on I decided to see if I could get them out before ordering new ones. This monumental task turned out to take 2 minutes per visor with 2 small 90 degree picks. One 90 degree pic to hook onto the back of the socket to pull towards me using gentle pressure. This keeps the socket from moving. I inserted the other one into the socket alongside the bulb and twisted it gently into the bulb while pulling out and all 4 bulbs came out without issue. I personally found this significantly easier than pulling the map light bulbs. It is a 2 handed operation so wasn't able to get pics, but thought I'd throw this out there for anyone else who might benefit. Obviously there are multiple ways to do this and they all have risks of doing damage so try at your own risk, but I was never concerned about breaking bulbs. Now we wait for the vettelights shipment.

My experience was just the opposite from yours. Map lights are simple using a zip tie, I tried the dental tools with no success on the vanity bulbs ended up breaking the wires and bulb socket, those $2 bulbs cost me a new $200 sunvisor, new leds are hard to install so I recommend using dielectric grease, also much easier to swap the bulbs with the sunvisor off the car.

map lights were easy once i figured out how to do it. I ended up using a forked plastic trim removal tool that I slightly modified to get around the bulb.

Work was done with visors in the car. I even reinstalled the first one I removed to make sure I hadn't damaged the socket. Picks I used on vanity lights. Blue one is smaller and is the one I stuck in the socket. The plastic light socket has some give to accept it. I went down close to the base of the bulb where I thought the glass would be stronger. Too small of a pick would probably break the bulb.
