Default Driver Side Mirror moving by itself

2007 C6 Convertible, about 50k miles. In the past few months I find the mirror has moved about 2 seconds of movement outward. The L-R switch is set to the center, OFF, and pressing left or right button does not move the mirror if set to center. So the motor works, it is just getting power intermittently on only one of the 4 axis movements possible.
I try to move the by hand, and it does not want to move in either direction with moderate pressure. (Afraid to push harder on it, some motors allow manual movement, maybe some do not. (?)
This limits the problem to be within the mirror motor module, or the wiring between the switches and the motor.
My guess is the mirror motor itself, rather than wires touching in the harness.
What is puzzling to me is the mirror does not drive to the outer limit, I can put it back with just a few degrees of movement, and I have no idea just when it is moving, if it creeps out or moves in one shot. It does move while driving, some time while in motion,
The mirror appears to be firmly attached to the motor carrier, it does not flop around, and all four axis movements work in all directions.
I'm guessing there are no circuits to automatically move the mirror such as moving in reverse, where some cars aim the mirror down when you go in reverse.
Any ideas out there?

Issue may lie w/ computer, things lose a bit or two & crazy behavior(s) ensue.
Try the ol' disconnect/reconnect battery, resetting computer(s).
IF it doesn't clear this up, then look deeper.

Does the car have memory or not (will be a button on the drivers door panel.
If yes, look at the back of the fob to determine which Number fob it is, adjust everything the way you want it, then press and hold that number on the button memory on the door panel about 5 seconds until you hear the car beep twice. If you are using the other fob, then how every is using it, then have them do the same with adjustments, and press that number on the door pad.
Note, to this, if fob one and fob two are in the car, the car will use Fob 1,and set the car to memory 1 positions.

And to back pedal a touch, before doing the above, remove the cables from the battery, touch the two cable together away from the battery (will be a light spark), then reconnect the cables to battery and re-index the windows. The removing the cables from the battery and touching them together, quickly drains all the current out of the module, and allows them to re-hard set onve the cables are connected to the battery. I bring this up, since If I leave my car too long on the tender, it will glitch the RCDLR from time to time, and fob will not start to work again until the modules (RCDLR in this case) it hard reset.

Now if you still have problems, then time to start checking the mirror connectors to memory seat module, and even connector at the BCM. Hence disconnected, cleaned with a spray electrical contact cleaner to remove corrosion from both side, and then reconnect them. If still problem, then need to check the individual wires to their spade connector inside the connector housings or down line, for possible broken wires the problem isntead.

P/S, could just be the mirror switch, with too much cleaning agent or something like soda/coffee spilled to get into them, and causing the shorting/button press problem on it own in the first place

I forgot about Driver 1 and 2. I assumed the mirrors were not tied to the BCM, but adjusting the side mirrors might be a nice touch. Can anyone confirm this? It would make sense, in that it seems to go to the same location every time. Every now and then the seats don’t move with the door switch, but otherwise pretty reliable. Thanks guys!

yes - your mirrors are tied to driver 1/2 settings - if you set seating position and mirror position w car in accessory mode or on and in park or with ebrake on (in a manual), then hold down the respective 1/2 button til it beeps, those settings will remain in memory and adjust each time you either start w the appropriate key or select the requisite button

this is very possible what's happening. You've set the seating position, but not the mirrors, so the mirrors adjust to whatever they were set to previously for that driver 1/2 setting

Default SOLVED: Driver Side Mirror moving by itself

Thanks much all, being a computer problem now makes much more sense. I knew I should have read the instructions, as my father always said, ‘after all else fails’.
update : just resetting Driver 2 while driving fixed it! Thanks all!
